  • Randy Biography!

Steven Randall Jackson, known as Randy, was born as the last son to Katherine and Joseph Jackson in 1963. Randy started his career in music when the Jacksons variety show launched in Las Vegas in the summer of 1976. Randy and Janet did impressions of celebrities, such as Sonny and Cher as a part of their routine.

Randy had not joined the Jacksons until the group moved to Epic. After Jermaine decided to leave the Jackson 5 by staying with Motown Records, Randy replaced him in the group.

In 1980, Randy had a car accident which nearly paralyzed him for life. While being cared for by his then girlfriend Julie, Randy started a program, and after months of intense training, he was finally able to walk again.

Randy aimed for solo career in the late 80s, while continuing to record with his brothers. His first and only solo album to date, Randy & The Gypsies, was released in 1989.

In the mid 90s, Randy launched Modern Records, where he remains CEO to this day. Some time ago, Randy signed his brothers (and himself), i.e. the Jacksons to his label and they are currently working on a new album due out early next year.

Randy has two children, Marlon Jr. and Genvieve with his ex-wife Alejandra (currently Jermaine's wife), and he has a daughter named Steveanna with Eliza Shaffe.

Randy performed with his brothers in Madison Square Garden in September 2001. The concert was held in honor of his brother Michael Jackson.
