    On Monday, in Beverly Hills, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis won the award for "Best Dance Song of the Year" with Janet's "All For You" at the 15th Annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards. The Dynamic Duo have won over 100 ASCAP awards in their career, including 9 Writer of the Year Awards!

    20/06/2002 Janet Receives The 'Governors Award' From NARAS

    Janet received the highest honor bestowed by an academy chapter, the prestigious Governors Award today at the 2002 Recording Academy Membership Awards Luncheon.

    "Once a year, the Academy honors Los Angeles Chapter members whose creative talents and accomplishments have crossed all musical boundaries and have been recognized as an asset to the music community"

    Also receiving awards alongside Janet, were film composer Thomas Newman and Walt Disney Music President Chris Montan.

    [...] Janet is indeed working on a greatest hits album to be released at the end of this year. The album will contain the best songs Janet recorded for Virgin Records through the years. Most likely there will be some extra (new) tracks included. At this moment there is no date set on when it will be released or what the album will be called.

    Janet will be appearing in the new video for Beenie Man. The two have recorded a song together. The video will be shot on the 23th of June in LA. No word yet on what the track is called.

    11/06/2002 One of Spanish Rolling Stone Magazine's 50 Sexiest Musicians

    Spain`s current edition of "Rolling Stone Magazine" includes Janet in their list of "The Sexiest Musicians of the Century". Janet was number 45. They included a caption about 'Janet`s sexiest moment' from her famous Rolling Stone cover and also included the lyrics of "Would You Mind." The list also includes artists such as Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Janis Joplin, Ricky Martin, Kurt Cobain and Bob Marley."

    06/06/2002 Janet's Essence Award Presentation Airs on FOX

    On May 31st, Janet was presented with Reader's Choice/Entertainer of the Year Honors at the Essence Awards in Los Angeles. The show finally aired this evening and the presentation included a video montage featuring many of Janet's biggest fans!

    Janet has been nominated for another award! This time from Seventeen Magazine! Janet is nominated alongside Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Alanis Morissette, Pink, and Shakira for the Best Female Artist award.

    Winners will be chosen by readers' votes, either through ballots found in the July and August issues of Seventeen, or by casting your ballot online. The fourth annual Teen Choice Awards are set to air August 19 on FOX.
