Dr. Seuss

Theodor Seuss Geisel (March 2, 1904 September 24, 1991) was a famous American writer and cartoonist best known for his classic children's books under the pen name Dr. Seuss, including The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. His books have become staples for many children and their parents. Seuss' trademark was his rhyming text and outlandish creatures. He also wrote under the pen name Theo. LeSieg.

This is a wonderful way to capitalize on the enjoyment children have with Dr. Seuss's wonderful books. Recognition of sight words and understanding simple stories are just a few ways we can encourage our children to read more.

There are lots of activities you can use involving hats and cats. Just think of all the rhyming you can do with your students. Have fun!
