DREAMS is a member center of the NAHRA and I personally will be a certified lesson instructor of the American Horse Riding Association. On your first introduction session a tour will be given and a personalized lesson plan will be started with the input of the instructor, parent, doctor or therapist. We will then set up a consistent schedule for the lessons. This is very important for the participant. Horses provide both mental and physical stimulation that meet a rider's needs; The horses give the riders a sense of ownership in their own lives and they feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment. We are very proud of our program at DREAMS and hope everyone will take advantage of its benefits. Spread the word so more can benefit from the center as we continue to grow and accomplish many things.
NARHA is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the rehabilitation of individuals with physical, emotional and learning disabilities through equine-facilitated activities. We do this through our worldwide network of member therapeutic riding centers. For individuals with disabilities, therapeutic riding has been shown to improve muscle tone, balance, posture, coordination, motor development as well as emotional well being. And it's fun! Through a wide variety of educational resources, NARHA helps individuals start and maintain successful therapeutic riding programs. Other organizations participating in NARHA riding programs include the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Special Olympics, Spina Bifida Association and United Cerebral Palsy.
Fundamentals: Riders learn horse care and may participate in grooming, tacking, and barn management.
§ Dreams Horse Riding Center also offers books for check out. This is incorporated into the individual lesson plan to be able to either read novels about horses or use for educational purposes
