Chapter 2
The Journy
Last we left, Akina was leaving her home town to find the man who killed her lover, Dareo, and her family. The only person in her family to survive was her sister, who stopped her just as she was leaving...
"Don't go Dove...please. Don't leave me here alone..."
"Lela! I thought you where dead!"
"No, I hid under the counter when they came to search the house...they didn't spot me but I didn't leave till I saw your feet..."
"My feet?!" she laughed at this comment but looked at her sister with such emotion, her eyes stared to tear up...
"Now look what you've done," she wiped a tear from her eye, "sis...could you do something for me?"
After that day, Akina waved goodbye to her sister. As the sun glinted off of her face, you could see a new marking...a tear...a tear tattooed on her face. So that she'd never forget this day, or her sister.
By late that afternoon, Akina could tell that she had missed breakfast AND lunch. Crystal was growing weaker by the minute and every trot she took seemed longer and more painful then that last.
"Let's rest here awhile, and I'll go fine some food....ok?"
The horse nodded as if she understood. Akina got up and went off into the woods near by to find some berries or deer to cook and eat. But little did she know that someone...or something was watching her every move form a tree top.
