Chapter 16
Raven's Call
Running, running, faster, everything a blurr in her eyes. Feet bleeding, arms weak, face dripping with blood. But she kept running, not knowing where she was going, nor what she was trying to escape. Further and further into the darkness she traveled. It was as if she was running towards the sun, reaching, grabbing, trying to get a hold of it's sweet loving glow. Faster, hotter, sweat mixing with blood and the tree branches slap and slice her face and body. the pain increases, bringer her to the ground, inches away from the light. the trees close in, and darkness rules her world once again...
With a cold chill, akina awoke from her daydream. Rubbing her head with her cold hand, she looks at her fingers. Blood from her face stained them. she froze, trying to remeber what she did to cause her face to be all scratched up. she ran to her tent and grabbed her dress. Taking quick action, she ripped off a piece of fabric and started to take the blood off her face.
After she was done, she layed back on her bed, until she heaard a noise outside her tent. Grabbing her sword, Akina looked out the see who was there. She saw an elf, the same one who spoke to her that one night..Gabriel...that was her name. Gabriel was crying, and trying to play an Ocerina. The song was sorroful and sweet. With each note, Akina was drawn into a sleep like state. suddenly Gabriel looked over and smiled at Akina, wiping away her tears. all of a sudden dozens of ravens came and encircled her. with a flash, the elf was gone, with a leaf left where she was sitting. Dazed Akina fell over, almost hitting her head on the ground.
"Akina!" Taskin ran over to catch her as she fell, kneeling on the ground. He brushed her hair away from her face, makng sure as not to hurt her. with all his strenth, Taskin picked her up and carried her to her tent, layed her down and covered her up. sitting next to her, his worried eyes would not leave her. That night Taskin didn't sleep, nor did Akina awake...it was like that for three days...then when she woke up....everything changed.
