Chapter 13
What Lies Ahead
"Why do you always have to get in the way Gabriel!?"
"Elain, I'm trying to show you what your doing is wrong, please stop it!"
A hand flies and slaps Gabriel acrossed the face, leaving a blood red mark on her face. Tears almost flowing down, Gabriel turns to run. Elain laughs and sits down under the great willow tree in which all her power came from.
"She is a fool, doesn't she see that Akina could kill us all? No matter, sister or no, she's in my way, and I must destroy her and Akina."
"Akina, slow down!!"
Akina looked behind her to see Taskin out of breath trying to catch up, his sister farther behind then him.
"I you two would exercise more, maybe you could keep up!" she yelled back to them with a smile. She stopped at the end of the road and sat down on a rock to rest. Taskin was the first to show up after her, trying to get his breathing under control, he sat next to Akina. Nikki was blue in the face from lack of breath, as she collapsed onto the ground by her.
"Why do you have to run everywhere?? Can't we take horses or carts??"
"Sorry Nikki, we need to be able to run, a horse or cart would slow us down."
"Your evil aren't you?" Nikki said with a laugh as she sat up and drank from the water jug.
"Night is coming, we should rest." Nodding in agreement, they all started to set up camp.
During the night, Akina found it hard to sleep. Images of the battle at her town pored through her mind, sending her emotions through the roof. Tossing and turning, she awoke to a hand over her mouth. Reaching for her sword, she stopped as the voice started...
"I know that you are Akina, and I know my sister is after you, let me help you."
Akina looked up to see a tan brown haired elf standing over her.
"My name is Gabriel."
Akina stood up to get a better look at this elf. She was tall, taller then Akina, but who wasn't? She had brownish eyes with dark brown hair. She was carrying a staff, she must be a healer elf, Akina recognized the jewel around her neck, she was a healer!
"Trust me, I know what you want."
Akina could only reach for her sword, and when she looked back up the elf was gone...
"Let me know when you'll trust me."
