Native American Warriors

Lightfeather Memorial Page

In Memory of Lee "Lightfeather" Moquin

by Deveda Coburn

The Native American Indian was a
great love of Lee's

He spoke of the Indian Culture proud
as he could be.
Lee belonged to the Blackfoot Tribe,
which bought him fame.
"Lightfeather" was his given Indian name.
We learned a lot about the Indian way
Listening to what Lee had to say.
His Grandfather was a respected medicine man
And helped people across their land.
Lee lived on a reservation as a young boy.
Material things weren't a part of their life
family and land
is what bought them joy.

I wish everyone could have seen Lee in his white leather With his black hair, beads and feathers He made you want to trace your heritage back to the days of old And hope there was Native American Indian in your background of stories untold. Lee was a kind gentle man Not afraid to show his feelings with a hug or squeeze of the hand. We thought we were special to him. He had a knack of making everyone feeling that way.

Always a smile and something nice to say We'll sure miss Lee and the red truck with the Dirty foot sign I am so glad Lee crossed my path in this life, As he was a true friend of mine. May the Spirit of your loved one find peace in the unknown land May the Great Spirit be there to hold his hand.

The Leon Moquin Memorial Fund Lee is a Blackfoot Indian. Several years ago he began a lecture series to enlighten Americans to the history of our beautiful land and perhaps your own place in its story. This spring Lightfeather (that's Lee) passed from this earth. His wife, Darlene, would like to continue his legacy through educating children of all ages (that's you too old timer) with the history that Lightfeather's lectures began.

They are promoted through the internet and other forms of media. Funds are desperately needed to do this. Donations are to be made to the Leon Moquin Memorial Fund and mailed c/o Pemigewasset National Bank, PO Box 526, North Woodstock, NH 03262. Thank you in advance for your generosity and may the heavens above smile upon your good deed. With gratitude and grace, Lana DesTroismaisons
