Chapter 2-Can’t Stop Thinking About You
‘Can’t get you off my mind, Can’t stop thinking about you, Thinking about you all the time’- ‘Can’t Stop’ Hanson
I woke up bright and early the next morning at 6:30am to the annoying beeping of my beloved alarm clock. Blah. I hate mornings. Well, mornings that start before the sun is up anyways. I knew I needed to get up and shower and everything, but I somehow just couldn’t bring myself to get up. I had so much on my mind. I hadn’t seen Amanda in 4 years. We were sixteen the last time we saw eachother. I mean sure she sent pictures and stuff, but they did her absolutely no justice whatsoever. She is so beautiful. She has these amazing blue eyes. Not plain boring blue eyes but blue eyes that changed with her emotions. Eyes that made people wonder if they were infact her own and not contacts. Her hair was always so soft and shiny. It was the prettiest color of brunette that I’d ever seen. She always had it cut short. I don’t think I can really remember a time when it was longer than just above her shoulders. She was short and cute with amazing curves. Amanda was perfect. I’m extremely attracted to her, but beyond that I don’t feel anything towards her except friendship. At least I don’t think I do. NO. I don’t. I’m with Shelli. Shelli makes me happy. Yup and maybe someday it’ll actually come true, because I love Shelli. As much as I hate to admit it, I do. Amanda, however, is not so fond of my better half. Although, in her defense, Shelli isn’t exactly fond of her either, it’s a love/hate relationship. They love to hate eachother. I glanced at my oh-so-wonderful alarm clock and noticed that it was already 6:45. I really had to get up if I was going to be ready in time. I quickly hopped in the shower and was out in a record time of ten minutes later. After getting dressed in a pair of baggy jeans and a t-shirt I went down stairs to get breakfast. My hair would have to wait until after my stomach had stopped growling. As I walked down to the kitchen I smelled bacon and eggs. Huh, I wonder who decided to cook. I walked into the kitchen to find Amanda making bacon, scrambled eggs, and pancakes. The rest of the guys were sitting at the table already eating.
"Morning sleepyhead." She said as she handed me a plate piled with eggs and bacon.
" Do you want any pancakes?"
"Nope, I’m good. Thanks for the eggs and bacon though."
" Your welcome."
" What made you decide to get up this early though?"
" I’ve been awake since about 5:00. I couldn’t sleep, I had too much on my mind. So I went on a jog to clear my mind and when I got back I just decided to go ahead and make you guys breakfast."
" Oh, well thanks. Aren’t you gonna have any."
"I already did. Well, I’m gonna go take a shower. What time do you think you guys are gonna be home."
" 6:00pm." Jacob replied. With that and a thanks Amanda ran up the stairs to take her shower.
~*5:00*~
It was 5:00 already and I still had to make the pasta and finish with the dishes. After I got out of my shower and blow-dried my hair. I decided to go back to bed. I woke up three hours later at 11:00. I’d had Ashley plaguing my thoughts since last night when we talked. That was the reason I was up so early. I couldn’t believe that he had gotten back together with Shelli. She was all wrong for him. She was needy and whiny and annoying. I could not stand that bitch. I was so happy when they broke up. I know that probably sounds awful, but he is just so much better off without her. Then again, I didn’t really want him with anyone. I wanted him with me. Yesterday I realized just how in love with him I was. I broke up with Josh this morning. I know that doing it over the phone isn’t exactly the best way to do it but, I just don’t love him. I love Ashley and I want to be with Ashley and nobody else. At around noon I became really bored so I decided to make dinner for the guys. They deserved it. That’s for sure. They worked their buts off all day long recording. I went to the store ( after getting directions from Marc) and bought all the ingredients. I had decided to make Spaghetti and Fettuccini Alfredo so that they could have a choice. I made both Angel hair pasta and Fettuccini earlier and put them in the refrigerator for later. Then I made my grandmother’s spaghetti sauce and my other grandma’s Alfredo sauce. At 5:00 I started to boil the water for the pasta to cook in and set the table. When the water was ready I put the noodles in and then went upstairs to change (I was covered in flour). I put on my tight dark denim flares and my black, long-sleeved, turtleneck with my black clunky shoes.
At quarter ‘till six I came back down stairs and put the finishing touches on the sauces and then sat down on a barstool with a magazine until the guys got home.
As promised they were home at 6:00.
" MMM...what smells so good?" Jacob asked walking into the kitchen.
" Dinner." I said pointing to the stove.
" You made us dinner?" Erik said coming into the kitchen with the rest of the guys.
"uh huh. There’s spaghetti or Fettuccini Alfredo. Everything was made from scratch except the garlic bread."
" You made all of this from scratch?" Dan asked sitting down on another barstool.
" Yup. I needed something to take my mind off things and cooking usually does the trick so... Besides I wanted to thank you guys for letting me stay here for a month."
" We don’t mind having you here." Trevor said joining the conversation.
" Yeah, really. I mean from what Jacob and Ashley told us today, you seem like a pretty cool person. I’m really looking forward to the next month." Erik said from where he was leaning against the counter.
" Well, thanks guys. That means a lot to me."
" I don’t know about you guys, but I for one am starving. So why don’t we go ahead and eat." Ashley suggested.
" Sounds great to me." Jacob said. ‘yeps’ and ‘me toos’ followed his response.
After everyone got a plate and decided what they wanted we sat down at the dining room table, which I had set earlier, and ate our dinner.
