Yes, welcome to the Mausie page! I have been instructed by my glorious mentor and publishing agent to create this webpage, touting my accomplishments. Unfortunately, blowing my own horn is NOT one of those accomplishments... so please bear with me while I try my best to beat my own drum here. (Horns? Drums? I'm starting to sound like a one woman orchestra!)

You see, about five years ago I was introduced to the wonders of the internet.. well, actually just to America Online. I was scared to death to try "surfing the net". It took me several years later, and the stern encouragement of someone near and dear to me to find the bravado to get my feet wet.

What I came to discover was that I had a modicum of talent for creating digital graphics, as well as a knack for catching on to this html stuff. So, seeing as I had a few poems that I had written over the years, it only seemed natural to create a webpage to put them on.

As I progressed under the tutelage of the above mentioned near and dear person, I began to amass quite a collection of my own artwork pieces as well... so, it seemed only natural to put THEM up on a webpage too!
Well, one thing led to another and before you know it, I was making webpages for anyone who wanted one! And that is how I ended up meeting Jan Moreland, publishing agent and CEO of "Soaring Spirits" (be sure to click on the link below and check out her webpage!).

So here I am, introducing myself to you via this webpage in hopes that you, as a reader, might be interested enough in my works to actually purchase them! We hope to have a small volume of verse put together for you in the near future... but in the meantime, here is a sampling for you to enjoy (and which will hopefully leave you wanting to read more!).

This one I call my "tongue in cheek" love poem. It's a little bit in the style of Ogden Nash
(one of my all time literary heroes!)

THE REASSURANCE POEM

Suppose I were to say to you
That you're the right to my left shoe;
Or maybe if I was to say,
My curds are nothing sans your whey -
Would that put your heart at ease?
And lay to rest your fears, oh please?.

If I whispered in your ear
That you're the atmos in my sphere;
Or were I just to gently chide
Without your slip, I'd have no slide -
Would that all your doubts allay?
And help you find more trust each day?...

Well, you and I were meant to be,
'Cause I need you as you need me!
We have our ups and downs, for sure,
But love is strong and we'll endure.
So worry naught, oh love of mine -
For I am yours, to the end of time!

The other poem I'd like to share with you was written for a wise young man the tender age of 18, who came to me with a problem and asked if I might write a verse for him to express his feelings to a certain young lady. What resulted was:

If I Was Ready....

What I wish i could do is to follow my heart,
And spend all my days with you, never apart.
But my mind tells me no, that this cannot be...
Not now, not yet... I still need to be free.

There are so many things that I still need to do,
Even though I would rather spend more time with you
There are lessons to learn and people to meet,
I am still very young, and life is so sweet!

But no matter what comes, even to the end,
I will cherish your name and call you my friend...
So I hope you'll remember this in all that you do,
Because if I was ready, it would be with you.

I hope you've enjoyed these meager offerings. Please do click on the links below to read about some other up and coming writers, or to view some of the artwork I mentioned earlier. And thank you so much for taking the time to read my page!
