Daire was born in county Limerick, the Republic of Ireland. His parents were Tony and Rose Nolan, famous Irish dance teachers who still own their own school in Limerick.

Yes, he has an older sister named Neave and a younger brother named Cian. Cian is in troupe 2 of Lord of the Dance.

Yes, he plays (or used to play) the bodhran which is a type of Irish drum.

Did he audition?
No. As he said in an interview for Irish Dancing Magazine, he, as well as a few other dancers, were told the storyline and told to dance to hornpipe time. After a few weeks, he was told he was to play the male bad guy (Don Dorcha) and he was also picked to be Dance Captain.

No. Definately not.
Is he married?
Yes. Daire was married on June 22 2001 to a woman named Carol. They were married in Limerick, Ireland.
I have heard that he has left Lord of the Dance. Is this true?
Yes, he left LOTD on February 24th, 2001 in Nantes, France.
Why did he leave?
Apart from getting married, problems with LOTD management (Martin Flitton) were stated as his reason for leaving
Is he dancing anywhere else?
Yes. Daire is dancing with a show called, "To Dance on the Moon" at the National Events Center in Killarney and will continue to do so until the end of September.
