Where You Are

As he started recording the song Where you are, Nick couldn't help but think of Celeste. She had been his one true love since the age of twelve. They had gotten engaged at the age of sixteen but were going to wait a few years to get married. Celeste had gotten pregnant at the age of fourteen which upset both of their parents when they found out. Nick and Celeste seemed to have been born to spend their lives together. Everyone that saw them knew that they were destined to be married. They both stayed in school even with the responsibilities of a child. Celeste had a little boy named Jason Christopher Lachey. Her mother took care of him while she went to school. Nick spent time with Celeste in school, after school they both worked and spent time with their son. 

Celeste had medium length straight light brown hair and hazel eyes. She was 5' 5" with a well developed body. Their little boy had her sensual thick lips, nose and hazel eyes. From Nick he got the dimples and dark hair. They both had to grow up and mature at a pretty early age but neither one of them regretted it. Their son had jut strengthen their love and created an unbreakeable bond between them. 

Nick remembered their son's first birthday, he and Celeste had gotten part time jobs in order to support their son. Nick didn't want her to work but she said it would be easier if they both worked. They had a small party at the Lachey's and they invited other kids from the neighborhood. They couldn't believe their little boy was one already. Celeste was holding Jason when Nick walked up to them. They were both almost sixteen. Nick said, "Put him down, your going to spoil him. Celeste, he's not going to want to let go off you if you don't set him down for a second."

"You're just jealous our son gets to spend all day and night with me. And it sucks that our parents won't let us out of their sight after our son was born. I'm not having another baby till after I graduate and get a job."

"Ok, we get good jobs, go to college so we can provide a good future for our son. You know there is birth control. I just wish our parents didn't have to know where we are every second of the day. Hey, maybe we can play hookie one day from school, take Jason with us and spend it like we use to before anyone found out."

"Nick, do you regret us having Jason? I know things have gotten harder than we planned and now we can't hang out with our friends like we use to. We can't even spend time alone because he's always with us. But he's the most precious gift I have ever gotten after you."

"Never, if I had to do it again I would. So what we have a kid. We just got ahead of the others and started early. We can't go to parties or hang out but look at this sweet angel. Who could ever regret having such a sweet little boy? I love him as much as I love you Celeste and we will always be together." Nick said as he leaned down and placed a kiss on his son's forhead. He kissed Celeste on the lips and put his arms around her.

Nick and Celeste got married when they were eighteen but till then their parents made sure they were always supervised. They didn't want them to have another child till after they were both adults. Both of their families loved Jason and learned that to their children their child would never be seen as a mistake. They saw how much they meant to each other but they wanted the best for them. Nick and Celeste had a beautiful wedding with their friends and families. Jason was four and he was in the wedding, his parents were happy because they finally got to live together. After having Jason, they wanted to move in together but their families were against it. The only way they could move in was after they married. But first they had to finish school and continued their educations to provide their son a good future. As Nick stood there in the studio trying to get through the song, he looked over the window. He could've sworn he saw Celeste standing there. He was twenty six now and their son Jason was twelve. Nick remembered when he and Celeste were twenty years old. They had been married for two years, Celeste had gone out to get the results of her latest check up. Nick decided to pick her up at the doctors office. He left their son with their mother while he went to surprise his wife. Celeste had gotten out of the her appointment early and was walking home. She was enjoying the warm, sunny day when she saw Nick across the street. 

She was happy and as soon as she saw him Celeste screamed, "Nick!" She smiled at and waved at him as soon as he saw her. Celeste didn't bother to see if any cars were coming as she ran across the street. Nick saw the car coming at high speed and ran towards his wife. She froze when she saw the car and heard Nick say, "Celeste, watch out." He couldn't get to her in time and the car made impact with her. Nick ran to his wife who laid there motionless. Ther was blood coming from the back of her head and he didn't dare touch her. He looked around and screamed, "Someone call an ambulance, now." Everything happened so fast and there was nothing he could do.

Nick cried there by his wife's body as someone called 911. They showed up fast and rushed Celeste to a hospital. Nick called his family and hers to inform them of what had happened. They all went to see how she was and to lend him support. After a few hours at the hospital, Nick saw the doctor come out. He walked up to him and asked, "How's my wife? Please tell me she will be alright." The doctor looked at him and said, "Your wife is in critical condition, the next 48 hours will be crucial. They will determine wether she will make it or not. Celeste recieved a hard blow to the head as she hit the ground. Your wife has a broken leg and arm, if she makes it she will be in a lot of pain for a while."

"I know my wife, Celeste is young and strong. She will fight for her life, she doesn't give up that easily."

"Your wife is pregnant, Mr. Lachey. We just found out and it's pretty miraculous that she didn't lose the baby. We will be monotoring her condition very closely for the next few days to make sure everything is fine with the pregnancy."

"Celeste is pregnant? How far along is she? She didn't know, if she had known she would've told me immediately."

"We found some papers in her things and apperantley, Celeste just found out. She's about six weeks into her pregnancy."

"Can I see my wife? I need her to know that I'm here with her, that she's not alone."

"Sure, she's not awake but you can talk to her. Hearing your voice may do her some good." The doctor took Nick to the room Celeste had been take to. She was hooked up to different machines, it tore him up to see his wife in those conditions.

The doctor explained to both families Celeste condition and her chances of survival. She had a 50/50 chance of surviving, if there were no complications. Nick sat by her side and never left her side. Both families were allowed to see her for brief moments. Nick was getting desperate, four days had passed and her condition had not improved. After no signs of improvement Celeste woke up. She looked around and saw she was in a hospital but she wasn't alone. Nick was there, he was holding her hand. She genlty tugged it and said, "Hun, wake up." Nick woke up as soon as he heard her voice and felt her hand tugging his. He got up, placed a kiss on her forehead and said, "Celeste, baby how do you feel? You've been out for so long, I was so scared I would lose you. You scared the life out of everyone."

"I feel terrible, my whole body hurts. Nick, the baby, did I lose our baby?"

"No, the doctors are surprised that you didn't. That's another little miracle and he or she is as strong as you. Celeste, do you remember what happened to you? You've been here for four days already."

"That long? I remember the car and everything going dark after that. I was so excited when I saw you because I had just found out about the baby. I wanted to tell you and I ran into the street without checking for cars. I know it was my fault and I'm sorry I scared you and everyone baby."

"All that matters now is that you get better so I can take you home. I'll take care of you, Jason misses you. He's been asking about you since the accident. He cries because you're not with him and you don't sing him to sleep."

"I don't know how long I'll be here hun, but I want to see our baby. Can you please bring him? I'll feel so much better with the two of you here." Celeste said trying to convince Nick. She knew that he would do whatever it took to make her feel better.

The doctors checked her out and Celeste was starting to recover. Nick got permission to have their son visit her in the hospital. The next day Celeste spent the day with her family laughing and talking. Their son spent the whole day with them and Nick didn't leave her side for a second. He spent the night with her, she even convinced him to get in bed with her and hold her. They fell asleep together after making plans for the future. In the morning when Nick tried to wake her, he couldn't. He lost it as he looked at her in a peaceful sleep. She had a smile on her lips, he called the doctors but it was too late. Celeste had passed away sometime during the night while they slept. 

Nick couldn't believe it, she had gotten so much better and now she was gone. He called his family and hers to give them the bad news. After Drew and Justin were able to get him away from Celeste body, Nick went home with his son. He needed to be alone to explain things to his son. It broke his heart to tell his son that he would never see his mother again. Burying the love of his life had been the hardest thing he had to do. To know that he would never feel her sweet caresses or hear her sing their little boy to sleep tore him apart. After the bureal, Nick went home alone and fell apart. He screamed, cried and let it all out.

Nick had to do his part of the song Where You Are, a few times. He couldn't get through some parts so he had to start over. He swore that he felt Celeste presence there with him. It had been six years since her untimely death but not a day went by that he didn't think of her. Nick felt dead inside after his wife passed away, it especially hurt because she was expectig their second child. After he was done at the recording studio he picked Jason up from his mom's house. They went home and that night while laying in bed, Nick felt Celeste presence there. It was as if she was laying there in bed with him. He felt her warmth and as if she had her arm around him. Nick sat up when he heard someone say, "Good night sweet love." He turned the light on and looked around the room but there was no one there. He still hadn't gotten over what had happened to Celeste. Nick couldn't even bring himself to look at another woman. Like many nights after her death, Nick cried himself to sleep that night. He had lost a part of him when Celeste had died. The only thing that had kept him going where his son and now his career.
