chapter three
I walked into the hotel and straight to my room. I threw my self on the bed
and stared at the ceiling. I had to tell Shane - That was for certain - But I
didn't know how. I was scared he would hate me for being the bearer of bad news
-I didn't wanna be the one to make him miserable, but i knew deep down that i
HAD to tell him.
I dialled his mobile phone - It rang and rang - and finally i was diverted to
the answer Phone.. I decided to leave my message for him there..
"Shane.. Hi, Its Marie.. I have something to tell you - something which i
don't wanna - but I have to - I don't wanna hurt you Shane - thats the LAST thing
I ever wanna do. It's about Karen.. Karen isn't all she seems.. I heard her today
- saying how much she hated you - I know it Shane - Shes after you for only your
money - and thats all. It's hard for me to tell you this - Your my best friend
and Always will be - Call Me.. Love you"
I hung up the phone and breathed a sign of relief. I'd told him now and it would
all be ok.. A few hours passed and then at last Shane Rang me "Hiya Shane"
I answered cheerfully. He signed heavily "Marie - I hate you, I don't know
why your trying to break me and Karen up - But it's not working - Don't contact me
ever again" And he hung up.
My whole body broke down.. My heart was smashed and my soul was aching. My eyes
were sore and i was crying - Shane hated me.. He hated me.. My best friend hated
me.. I never knew how that felt before - and I never wanted to feel it again - I
tried to stand and fell to a crumpled heap on the floor - My life was shattered
- My life was over.. My soul was incomplete and would never be complete again -
I could tell by Shanes voice he meant what he said - and I knew it would be
useless contacting him so i didn't try.
Meanwhile Shane was searching frantically for Karen after that phone call with
Marie - He needs to hold Karen - hug her - Kiss her.. Make him feel whole again.
He heard her talking on the phone around the corner and couldn't help but over
hear the end of her conversation "Now that Marie is gone, I've got him all
to myself - Shouldn't be long before he gives me some serious Cash - He's wrapped
around my little finger now.. hahahah" Shanes world came tumbling down -
his heart felt almost as empty as Maries - except at that moment he knew he
loved Marie.. and Always had..
He yelled at Karen "Get out of my life! I Hate you - how could you do this
to me"
Shane ran to Maries hotel and asked for her at reception. "I'm afraid the
young lady left for the airport a few minutes ago - I think she said she needed
a holiday - some where hot. She told me her flight was at 4. Shane looked at his
watch. Her flight was in 2 hours - He had to find her..
Shane arrived at the airport and after frantically searching for her.. he found
her. He Ran up to her and hugged her. They kissed passionately - Not caring who
saw.. Marie was happier than ever.. Until she stopped Kissing Shane. Im sorry He
said "Sorry for ever doubting you" Said Shane. Marie then realised
that Shane hadn't trusted her - and no relationship could survive without trust -
It was the Main thing after love that every relationship needed..
Marie cried a tear and Shane tried to hug her again. She backed off "Shane.."
She Said "Shane.. I loved you, i always have, and i probably always will.
But today you broke my heart, today you broke my soul.. I can't forgive you for
not trusting me.. I can't Shane.. and I'm sorry." Marie kissed her finger and
placed it on Shanes lips.. "Good Bye Shane.. and this time the goodbye is
forever" Marie picked up her luggage and walked to her gate to get her
flight.
Today Marie got her wish - She got her kiss, one problem was that she didn't get
her soul mate - she didn't get the missing piece of her heart - She didn't get Shane. She regretted not telling Shane that she loved him - Of course she
forgave him.. She turned around and smiled at Shane. She prayed that he would
run to her and hug her and that everything would be ok.
She waited for him - waited to see him run towards her smiling....Instead he
smiled and turned away. he walked away - out of her life. The good bye they had
said was forever - and they both knew it.
Both with tears in their eyes - they walked away - both knowing that the other
was there soul mate and that they would never be happy with out each other - But
sometimes thats life..
