Sarah Connor, who's originally name is Sarah Lewe, was
born on the 13th June of the year 1980 in a small town called
Delmenhost in Germany. |
|
From the beginning she loved to sing and did it whenever she had time
to, that's why she started to perform at certain occasions around her
hometown.
|
|
In 1998 she recorded a demo tape with the help of
her friends and sent them out to several recording companies. But from
the demo tape to the record deal it was a long and hard way, because
nobody wanted to take the risk of producing black music with somebody
that has a white skin. After a long search she finally could convince
the head producer from the record company X-Cell records, a sister
company from Sony to give her a chance. |
|
In 1999 she started to work on her first single
and they already had worked on "Let's get back to bed boy"
for a half year, still searching for the boy to sing with her, when
US-singer TQ decided that he would take the part. |
|
In 2001 she released "Let's get back to bed
boy" as a single and quickly made her way up to number 2 in Germany
and into the top ten in many other countries in Europe. In other words
she had a major breakthrough. |
|
Later on she released her second single "French
kissing", which showed even more that the skin color hasn't
anything to do with the color of the voice, and "From Sarah
with love", which became her first number one single.
|
|
Just one week ago she finally released her debut album with the name
"green eyed soul". In an impressive way Green Eyed Soul shows the many facets of Sarah
Connor. Next to her
hit- singles, tender
ballads (From Sarah With Love), strong soul-pieces (Every
Little Thing, If U Were My Man), powerful hip-hop-Sounds (Can't
Get None) and of course finest R&B (Where
Do We Go From Here) are featured on her debut album.
|
|
Something very special happened to her, when the recording seemed all
finished, when another cool surprise came up for Sarah: TQ himself sent
a song, which he actually wrote and produced just for Sarah: „Can't
Get None“.
