At the beginning there were three young man, or better
said boys since that is what they where at this time in 1992.
Back than it was 19 year old Howie Dorough, 14 year old Alexander
McLean and 12 year old Nicholas Carter. The three of them often met
during the waiting time of castings, quickly became friends and discovered
their common interest for music. So Alex had the idea to for a group
and so they formed a musical trio and attempted a talent show at a
mall that was hold buy THE Louis J. Pearlman. They did "It's so
hard to say goodbye" from their fave group Boyz II Men and
Pearlman was taken by them and engaged them immediately. But there was
one catch he wanted them to form a quintet. and he already had an idea
and this idea had the name Kevin Richardson and was 21 years of age by
this time. When he got the call he was working for Disney and gladly
took the offer. Not only that but he also had an idea for the fifth
person of the group, called was Brian Littrell and was his 17 years
old cousin from Kentucky where they both grew up. |
|
Two years later in 1994
they got signed to Jive-records and recorded their first CD. Early in 1995
they released their first single called "We've got it goin'
on". But it wasn't very successful and dropped out of the charts
after only two weeks. |
|
But this was different when they released the same
single in Germany in August of 1995. in Germany
and many other countries of Europe it became a huge hit and sold more
than 400.000 times during the first six weeks alone in Germany, which
brought the Guys their first gold record and it didn't take them long
to receive their first platinum award. And this success really over
helmed all five of them. |
