Chapter one
As
usual Mandy was lying in her bed listening to her favorite song. For her age she
is a little shy, but that's not surprising because she never met many people in
her live. While listening to the music she watched the night through one of the
open windows. Like so often before sleep wouldn't come. So she got up and went
over to the window. As she was watching the sky, she could see a shoting star
and made a secret wish.
The
next morning she woke up, from the sunlight touching her face. She got up and
dressed before she made her way to get some breakfast. After breakfast she went
back to her room and watched a little bit TV since it was Saturday and there was
nothing else to do for her. She watched TV till it become boring and she went to
surf a bit through the net. She always loved the net because it's a place, where
she is able to talk to people without telling them everything of her life. And
she really enjoyed this because she hadn't to answer all these questions.
While
she was chatting with her friend from the states, her doc entered the room.
She
turned the computer off and turned to face him. Already having a feeling what he
was about to say.
While
he was saying these last words, she could clearly see forming tears in his eyes.
She knew it was hard to say these words for him, because she knew that during
the last two years, she has been like the daughter he had never had two him. She
thought a while searching for words she could tell him to sheer him up a bit.
And when she couldn't find them, she just walked over to him and hugged him
tightly. They stood like that for a while until a voice from the loudspeakers
called for him.
He
didn't wanted to leave her alone at this moment, but he also knew that he really
was needed. So he tried to dry his eyes and left her with the words.
After
he had gone, she turned on the radio and walked over to the window and watched
the people on the street. There she saw a little girl, who was running into the
arms of her mom and she hold it tight. By this sight a single tear made his way
down her check. She always wanted to become a mom herself one day. But now she
was really afraid that it would never be able to happen. And then another tear
escaped from her eyes. But it wasn't because she was afraid to die or of the
death. She had done a lot of thinking about this and had come to the result that
everybody had to die one day. She just wanted it to happen so soon. Because she
had set herself so many goals for her future which she wanted to achieve. And
now she'll maybe never be able to reach them. She was about to break into tears,
when her fave song was played on the radio. Like always it helped her to
remember herself to never give up on hope and so she became calm again.
After
the song was over, she took a short nap. In her dreams she forgot about her
illness and had beautiful adventures. This time she had her favorite dream,
where she was swimming with dolphins and could understand them without any
problems.
