~ Some of Skip's interest and Hobbies ~

Where to begin. Well I have enclosed some pics on this page so people could get an idea of what kind of person Skip was.Happy, and close to his Family, and very tall, 6' 1 I believe.Skip had many interest and hobbies but I will write down as much as I can here.

Like many young people Skip enjoyed going to parties and also like to drink. He was quite a character when drinking sure can remember some good stories, he was never mouthy or anything like that, but was very funny to watch.Although I remember the clear night of having to walk him up to his home past a 1 acre pond when he would be drunk and not able to walk. And yes 1 time he did fall in.He knew how to swim and plus the water in that place he fell in was not very deep.I am not very big so at times it was difficult to help him walk.

Have to tell u 1 story real quick, remember him pulling up one night after coming from a bar.I was up and saw lights flashing off and on, he was in his car.I went out to see what on earth he was doing and he said "help".I asked what he needed help with and he said he could not open the door to his car. This door was tricky the handle on the outside was broke and he was the only one able to open it.I told him i could not get it open.He did get it and was so drunk he could hardly walk.I walked him up to the front porch and went up a few stairs, i told him to stand right there for 1 second so i could open the front door and next thing i knew i turned to help him in and he wasy laying on the ground laughing, to funny.

I would not say Skip had a drinking problem, but would say he did enjoy to drink and make people laugh.I could even tell ya his favorite drinks were Budweiser and he liked rum and coke.

Besides from drinking skip did enjoy other things to such as hiking, swimming, playing pool, driving around (country cruising), he loved listening to his cd's,tunes as he called em ,his favorite music was rock n' roll, he hated country, and he also enjoyed taking his rotweiler for walks. He loved that ole dog, which I have now.

When Jacob came along Skip's nephew, Skip instantly developed a bond with him and would take him places with him. When Jacob had an open heart surgery Skip would go up to the Hospital with us and stay.He was deeply concerned and worried about little Jacob as we had buried a child to this same heart disease.Skip did not have any children of his own and we could all tell that Jacob was special to him.

Skip also loved his car although he would get mad at it sometimes it always seemed to run for him and get him where he wanted to go it was an 85 thunderbird, black and grey.

At 1 time my mom had purchased Skip and I, skip's youngest sister, a trailer and had it placed on her land.I remember when Skip tore out the whole inside of his trailer, my mom was like what on earth are you doing and he said remodeling. He had planned on redoing the whole trailer. He spent a lot of time in there working on it.

In most of Skip's spare time he was at my trailer visiting, my best friend who lived with me was also good friends with Skip so he would come over and visit us often and also to see little Jacob.

Skip was very spontanious meaning if he got bored he would say come on guys lets go.We would be like go where, and we could end up down at the lake or something or off hiking somewhere.Skip loved to go to the lake in the summer time.

Among many other things Skip enjoyed spending time with his family, he would take his handicapped sister to the movies or our mother out to lunch. You would rarely find Skip just sitting around, that was definatley not his style. He would even find work to do on our farm if he was terribly bored.

Skip was also a very talented artist, such as he could draw very beautiful drawings from his imagination, which could be wild at times and he could also draw a picture of something just by looking at it.He loved music also and even learned to play piano on his own.

It is more difficult than i thought to sumerize all of Skip's interest and hobbies but I think i have mentioned several.I would say the things that ment the most to Skip was his family, Jacob, His friends, his cd's and of course his rot, Eddie, or as we call him Eddie bear and his car.

Skip also did enjoy sitting out on our mom's deck which extended over the 1 acre pond, late at night and fished. My boyfriend of the time, husband now, use to go fishing together in that pond often and also Skip loved to cook, we had barbeques frequently in the summer. He was a great cook and we sure miss that great food.
