Faith and Keith have met in person. Faith was in Oregon, they spent wonderful 2 and a half weeks together.

10/31/99

Faith visited Keith one more time, they spent a marvelous week together and filled the forms together.

11/09/99

Initial forms were mailed to the INS Service Center in Lincoln, Nebraska including :

  • I129F
  • G-325A, one for each of us
  • Original copies of Keith’s birth certificate
  • Original copy of Keith’s divorce certificate
  • Translated copy of Faith’s divorce certificate
  • INS photos of each of us
  • $95.00 US filing fee
  • A few pictures taken together Faith & Keith, some emalings one another (proof of relationship)

Please send as much as proof of your relationship (ie. Plane tickets, boarding passes, hotel bills etc.). This would help you to gain some time. We did this mistake!!!

Also, SEND original, signed copies of the I-129F and G-325A forms. Fax copies may or may not be accepted by the INS. It would help to avoid further delays.

Also, SEND any other previous divorce decrees (if any), we did this mistake too!!!

Keith received NOA. Process started. We can call the Nebraska Service Center’s automated phone line to check on the status of our case now. The NOA includes a receipt number which you type into the phone at the voice prompt and an automated voice will tell you how things are going.

Faith calls NCS automated line daily, still the same message on the phone.

01/12/00

Faith sent her fingerprints to RMCP (Canada) to get her police clearance, because Faith lived in Canada for one year 20 years ago.

01/18/00

NCS automated phone message changed. It says, they sent a letter, requesting additional info or more evidence. Chewing nails now!!!!!

01/23/00

Keith received the letter. INS wants more proof that we’ve actually met in person and our previous divorce decrees. Sheeeees, it’s been 25 years, how can I find that. But, I found it and have it translated under notary.

01/31/00

Faith sent previous divorce decree to Keith. Keith requested for his previous divorce decree from the Court.

Faith received package #3 from the US Embassy in Ankara, Turkey. We have a different case number now starting with ANK.

03/9/00

Faith had her Medical Exam at the American Hospital in Istanbul..

03/27/00

Faith’s interview date is scheduled for April 6th in Ankara at 9:30 a.m.

I would like to tell you that you should have ADIT photo with you when you go to interview. There is a photo shop in Ankara on Akay Street named Akay Color, they do that.

Pay your visa fee before interview date to the shown bank and have your medical exam before interview date.

If you married before the US Embassy in Ankara wants to see all ORIGINAL copies divorce decree’s (I mean with wet sealed copy).

My interview was at 9:30 but I was there at 9:00. I had a number when I enter and waited till my number shown on the sign box. Then I gave all the requested papers to a lady in a cube. You don’t go to a private room. There are cubes there and you are talking behind the glass. Then the lady told me I should wait. Approximately 15 minutes later another lady called my name in another cube and have me signed the form 156 and on my ADIT picture and wanted me to print my name and last name behind my photo. Then I should have waited another 20 minutes.

An American visa officer called my name and asked questions. Where and when did you meet, what happened then, where Keith is working, what does he do. And he wanted to see our pictures together. I had bunch of emails and letters with me but he didn’t want to see them. And he asked me if we gonna live in Washington State. I corrected him Washington State is where Keith was born but we gonna live in Oregon. And a few times he spelled Keith’s name as Dave and I corrected him. (maybe he did it by mistake but I don’t think so ;)).

Then he asked how many times Keith and I was married and if I am sure this time, LOL.

He told me I should come back at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow to get my passport. I asked him if I had my visa, he said “well, pretty lady, everything seems so nice with you, yes, you got your visa”

YAY!!!!!!!!!
