A Woman's Words
by LaLonnie Wood-Scott
The Wildwoman
Within
The wildwoman
laid sleeping for thirty-two years
She awoke
in my thirty-third
growled when she yawned,
scratched when she caressed
bit as she kissed
I've tried to tame her......to no avail
I can only hope
she won't wound
as she communes with you
Forest

Sounds muffled
by a lush moss carpet
Mist creeps in
becomes entangled on spider's webs
clings to leaves like sweat
Damp, moist blanket
with a living scent of
sweet, honeyed raven earth
Birds flit among
the canopy of leaves
as man's concrete world slowly ebbs
as a tide, from me
Primal awe surges
thru me
Oh what a splendid world of reality!
heightened by
touch, sight, smell
I want to taste the earth
rich upon my tongue
lie naked upon the hushed jade floor
and feel the mist
envelop me like a cool caress
