I
hope that the poems here may inspire you to write
and express your own feelings and experiences.
In 1993, I started writing down some private poems.
Words would come to me, I would write them down, and
then I would put them away. In 2002, I decided to
be brave and share "Forest" with some of
my friends.
They encouraged me to share more of my poetry with
them. Later that year I started a poetry sharing group
for shy novice poets like myself. I hoped to gain
enough confidence sharing with the group to be ready
to give a reading in public. In February 2003, I will
be giving a public reading of my poetry in Fernie,
BC, Canada.
I have produced both a large and small booklet collection
of my poems and will be selling them at the public
reading and on this web-site. I am contributing $1.00
from the sale of each large booklet and $.50 from
the sale of each small booklet to the Elk Valley Family
Society, a non-profit organization of volunteers,
which offers a second stage (longer term) housing
service for women and their children leaving homes
of domestic violence. Private funding has become necessary
for this worthy, and unfortunately, necessary, service
as public funding has been drastically reduced.
