In Loving Memory Of

Steven Paul Morgenstern

August 16, 1977 -July 5, 1999

Six years before the senseless crash that took Steven' life away he was involved in another fatal crash. While driving his brother and his best friend to school one morning his truck stalled in the middle of an intersection and was struck by a semi killing his best friend and seriously injuring his younger brother and himself. Steve was no stranger to coping with death and was thought of by those who knew him as one of the strongest people alive!

Tragically, July 2, 1999, Steve, and his best friend Cory were riding their motorcycles, along with two other friends, to a fireworks show in downtown Columbus, OH. A van in the opposite lane went left of center narrowly avoiding their one friend but running over Cory and his bike and then crashing into Steve and his passenger. Their motorcycles caught fire and the van struck another car in the same lane. Cory was dead at the scene while Steve and his passenger, who were thrown from the bike, were transported to a nearby hospital. Steve lived for three days after that fatal crash. If Steve had awakened during that three days it is doubtful that he could have lived with knowing he had lost his best friend again.

Steve would have never been the same after that fateful night.! Steve's parents were faced with the heartbreaking decision to give up their son's life and donate his organs so that others might live.

Steve was a coach for a high school wrestling team after being a champion himself. He payed his way through college to become an architect. He had just graduated from one college and was set to attend OSU in the fall. Steve had big plans and he would have been the most succesful in his family. There were many, many lives that he touched and he never ever judged any one.

The man in the van that killed Steve and Cory was drunk and showed no signs of remorse.

To My Dearest Steven

The night that you were killed I lost the most beautiful and intelligent guy I ever had the chance to date. I know that you are my guardian angel and that you see me through every thing I will ever have to face. You won't let me face it alone because you would never have had to. We All Love You Steve! I will never, ever, let anyone forget you!

With All My Heart Jaclyn
