Dear Momma

I love you Mom! Dad has done a good job!

We miss you very much!

Misty & Her Mom

Dear Mom,

The Day is nearing. It is almost that time again. All I can do is sit here and think. I try so hard to remember what it feels like to have a mother. Dad is doing okay mom. He has his faults but he is doing a great job. He tries really hard. No one ever thought he could do it alone. They were wrong, mom!

I come to visit your grave sometimes. It hurts so much to stand there and remember that you are dead. It's not fair, mom! He killed you, and almost killed me, and yet he still walks. I think he deserves to die too! I don't understand how he can live with himself. I promise you that I won't ever drink and drive. I couldn't do that to you or anyone else.

I know that you are watching over me and I also realize that you are doing the best you can from where you are. I am so sorry, mom! I wish you could be a part of my life. I'll tell you this though. You will always have that special place in my heart. I really, really wish you were here to share this with me. The rest of my life will never be the same without you here to guide me. All the wonderful things I will do, you won't be a part of. I will never forget you or all that you have done for me!

I love you so very much, mom. I really miss you and I wish you were here to see me grow up. Take care of yourself and everyone else. I will see you again someday when it's my time, mom. Until then all my love and goodbye, mom.

AT THE HANDS OF A DRUNK DRIVER

It has been over fourteen years now, Mom

Since that tragic Sunday

When our lives changed forever

In the blink of any eye

And the turn of a key

You were gone, mom

Not a day passes

That I don't think of you, mom

Or that day when you lost your life

At the hands of a drunk driver

In my heart, mom

I believe you died for me

I think that God said

It was either you or me, mom

And you chose to go

So that I could continue on

Why can't people see, mom,

that drinking and driving takes lives.

And families are destroyed.

So many kids like me, mom,

take the lives of innocent people everyday.

There is no worse feeling in this world, mom,

than losing someone you love

at the hands of a drunk driver

I may have been young, mom.

But I still understood.

That because of him and his choice

I have to grow up

and live this life

without you, mom

I hear my friends say "hi mom"

every single day, mom.

And it reminds me once again.

Just what I lost, MOM,

AT THE HANDS OF A DRUNK DRIVER

Unnamed Poem

A million times I've needed you

A million times I've cried

If love alone could have saved you

You never would have died.

In life we loved-you dearly

In death we love you still

In our heart you hold a place

No one can ever fill.

The Golden Gate stood open

He saw you needed rest

God's Garden must be beautiful

For he always picks the best.

"TO THE SURVIVORS"

To all who have suffered

great tragedies

yet survived...

My heart goes out to you.

You have faced horrors

that no one

should ever have to face

and yet you survived.

We

who have never walked in you shoes

do not know the depth of your

pain and suffering...

Nor the strength of your spirit.

You are heroic.

You are our strength.

Knowing that if something

horrific should happen to us

that we can survive.

I commend you

and your terrific

Heroic Spirit.
