Chapter 10

Taylor: It felt so good to finally have her in my arms again. To feel her soft, warm skin. And breathe her in, the scent of summer nights, tea, and fragrant candles. I had missed her so much and the period of time that was only about a week, felt like an eternity without her. She had become my world. Every second was filled with her or thoughts, memories, and pictures of her. I wrapped my arms around her waist and rested my chin on her thin shoulder. “I can’t believe you’re here,” she whispered to me as I kissed her check. “Can’t live without you,” I told her. She looked around. “I think everyone else has already headed back to the hotel. How long are you here for,” she sighed. “Three days, I think.” “Including today?” “I don’t think so.” “I’ve got two more days,” she turned around. “Wanna do something tonight? I just gotta run back to the hotel real quick to change, but I wanna spend as much time with you as I can because we only have a few days.” “Ok. I’ll walk ya back if you want,” I looked into her crystal blue eyes. “Sure, it won’t take me but a second to change.” We stepped out into the light of day and began walking down the main street. I took hold of her hand. She laughed, “So, how’d ya know I was here.” “I had Hillary fax Zac a copy of the schedule.” “Really? That’s so sweet,” she giggled. “I’m just glad to be here with you.” “Aw…,” she joked as both of us started blushing. “Here it is,” she turned into a nice Venice Hotel, entered the elevator and pressed the third floor button. Seconds later, the elevator dinged and the two of us marched down the hall hand in hand to room 322. She dug in her jacket pocket and as soon as her hand reached the lock, the door sprung open. “Gez, Lillie, scare the shit outta me, why don’t ya?” “Nope, just beat ya to it,” a girl with pink hair stood by the door in jeans and a polo t-shirt. “Lillie, this is Taylor. Taylor this is Lillie,” I shock Pinkie’s hand. “Nice hair,” I pointed out. “Really? Ya think?” I nodded. “Thank you.” Melissa searched through a big blue duffle bag in the corner. “I’ll be out in just a sec,” she said slipping into the bathroom with a wad of clothes in her hand. I took a seat of a rather cushy bed. “So, how did you two meet,” the questions started. “I was at Melissa’s voice recital. Clover’s my cousin.” “Really? Aw…that girl’s such a sweetheart.” “Yea, she’s cool.” My gaze shifted to the ocean view exposed by open curtains. “You’ve got quite a view,” I looked at the sunlight reflecting off Caribbean blue water as shadows of birds gliding through the air cast down upon it. “Yea, I know. I just love it here.” “Yea, its really pretty.” Lillie got up to knock on the bathroom door, “ready yet.” “One sec,” Melissa shouted from the other side of the door as it slowly opened. She stood in the doorway in a pink, curvy, floral dress. “So,” she grinned and twirled. “You look amazing,” and she did. “So,” she took my hand, “where to, Romeo?"
