Chapter 5
Hillary: "Wow! I’m in awe of your brilliance!" "Why, Thank you!",
Melissa replied with a sarcastic grin and bow. "Marvelous,
simply marvelous, darling!," I continued, "Did you know your
dad got it all on tape?" "Oh God, I hope your kidding!" "As a
matter of fact, I’m not, and your family sends their praise
and the message, 'we'll meet you at home.'" "Well, great!
Something else for that twerp to use as bribery!" "Don't
worry bout your brother, he’s an ass, which is hopefully
something he'll grow out of." "Fat chance!," she exclaimed
and I understood, if you knew Ben, you would too. Just then,
2 guys and a girl walked over from the other side of the room
to talk to us. "Melissa, you were great!", a small brunette
adorning a yellow dress told her.” You were too," Melissa
told the girl. "Chloe, this is my best friend, Hillary." "Hi,"
Clover responded shaking my hand with a smile. "These are
my cousins, Taylor and Zac." We both said our Hi's and shook
hands with each of the rather attractive blonde boys in front
of us. "Hanson, right?," Melissa said that with that excited
but totally cool look on her face. I know her too well; she
already knew before, I mean, come on; she a huge fan. This
had to be one of the greatest days in her life...and mine.
We're not you're typical fans though. Her vast CD collection
holds the likes of the Counting Crows, Linkin Park, Limp
Bizkit, Destiny’s Child, and Sarah McLachlan, to name only a
few. If its music at all, she likes it. "Yea, we are. We're on
tour right now actually, but we're gonna be in Atlanta for a
few days so we can hang out with family and get some rest
before we head to Europe.," Taylor told her, fidgeting with
the zipper on his black leather jacket. I didn't even know him
yet, but I could tell just by looking into his deep blue eyes
that he was totally digging her. It was so cute! And I knew
she liked him too, not only did she have the same "emotional
eyes," as I call them, but she thought he was hot, she told
me this a long time ago. "That’s so cool!," Melissa replied
with a smile. "Ummmm....," Clover broke in, "tomorrow
we're going to Lenox if ya'll wanna meet up with us or
something." "Yea, we'd love to!," I chimed in. "How's 11 for
you guys?," she inquired. "Great!" "We'll see ya then," Zac
said. The moment I heard his voice I just about went into
shock! It was the voice from the elevator! I knew it, I never
forget a voice! I was so embarrassed, my face turned several
different shades of bright red hue as they turned around to
walk away. "Oh my gosh, Hill! We're going to the mall with
Hanson......." then, "You're face looks like a cherry!", Melissa
bursted into a fit of laughter. "What's wrong?" "I think I just
totally humiliated myself in front of Zac Hanson!"
