Who's the mastermind here?

My friends and me at our first Yankee game of the '07 season!

That's me! The first "E" in the lineup. Catch us on TV sometime ;)

Hi everybody! I'm Monica, the person who founded and runs this website. I am 24-years-old, working in NYC and am still as much a Yankee/Jeter/web design fan as I was when I was 14. Thank you so much for checking out my site! I appreciate all of the feedback you have given me throughout the years. :)

How I Came to be a Jeter Fan

It all started back in 1997. My family has always loved the Yankees, but I didn't care much for professional baseball back then. One day, I decided to sit down and watch a Yankee game with my mother. I looked at Mr. Jeter after he made a double play and said to my mother, "He's not bad, huh?" She said "umm, yes dear!" I guess I was stating the obvious. After that, I watched more and more Yankee games. I loved players like Bernie Williams and Tino Martinez, but I was especially fascinated by Mr. Jeter. To this day, I still look up to him because he is a talented and wonderful leader, both on and off the field. From the e-mails and guestbook signings I've received, he has obviously been a great influence on many of you as well. Mr. Jeter, I doubt you'll ever get to read this. If you do, on behalf of all your fans I would just like to say THANK YOU for being such an inspiring person!

The Birth of This DJ Website

It all started in '97 when my friend from summer school tried to teach me how to build a website. My first few tries were a complete disaster -- I couldn't even put pictures on my site! When HTML (the website programming language) finally made sense to me, I decided to build a website devoted to something that I love. I chose to make my site about the entire Yankee team with individual player pages. This website was originally made for myself, family, and friends to look at. Much to my surprise, I started getting such positive e-mails from strangers who had seen my site. About 85% of those e-mails mentioned something about how happy they were to see a Derek Jeter page. I took a hint and tailored it to be a site specifically for Mr. Jeter. It's been fun talking to Jeter fans from around the world (there are fans as far away as Singapore and New Zealand)! There have also been pleasant little surprises along the way: being mentioned in Mademoiselle magazine, and having the Rosie O'Donnell Show and the New York Daily News wanting to ask questions about Mr. Jeter. There is even a tabloid article floating around the Internet that is a parody of my website! There have been plenty of times that I haven't updated the site as much as I should've, but I will do my best to never fall too far behind. You fans are truly my motivation to keep this site alive. Thank you very much!
