Celtic and Wiccan

 Welcome to Jennifer's Tribute
   to Celtic culture and Wiccan
Tradition. MAXIMIZE YOUR SCREEN FOR BEST RESULTS! For those with sound and speakers there is a song on this page and it is sung in Irish Gaelic.

When people first hear the term "witchcraft", their first
impression is "evil!".  Many pages on the Internet right
now are here to prove those people wrong.  To put it
plainly, wicca is a nature based "religion" so to speak
that tends to worship more than one god and these
gods represent nature in some beliefs.  It is true
that some wiccans cast spells, however, these spells
are NOT bad spells.  It is stated in the Wiccan Rede
that you may not harm another person in your
practices.  Do not fear wicca - it is not here to
harm anyone.  I've found that wiccans in general
are caring, kind and respectful people who
care about their environment.

The Wiccan Rede

Bide the Wiccan laws we must,In perfect love and perfect trust.
Live and let live, Fairly take and Fairly give.
Cast the circle thrice about, to keep the evil spirits out.
To bind the spell every time, Let the spell be spake in rhyme.
Soft of eye and light of touch, Speak little, listen much.
Deosil go by the waxing moon, Chanting out the Witches' Rune.
Widdershins go by the waning moon, Chanting out the baneful rune.
When the lady's moon is new, Kiss the hand to her, times two.
When the moon rides at her peak, then your heart's desire seek.
Heed the North winds mightly gale, Lock the door and drop the sail.
When the wind comes from the South, Love will kiss thee on thy mouth.
When the wind blows from the west, Departed souls will have no rest.
When the wind blows from the east, Expect the new and set the feast.
Nine woods in the cauldron go, Burn them fast and burn them slow.
Elder be the lady's tree, Burn it not or cursed you'll be.
When the Wheel begins to turn, Let the Beltane fires burn.
When the Wheel has turned to Yule, Light the log and the Horned one rules.
Heed ye Flower, Bush and Tree, By the lady, Blessed Be!
Where the rippling waters go, Cast a stone and truth you'll know.
When ye have a true need, Hearken not to others' greed.
With a fool no season spend, Lest ye be counted as his friend.
Merry meet and merry part, Bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Lest in self defense it be, Mind the Threefold Law you should,
Three times bad and three times good. When misfortune is enow,
Wear the red rose on thy brow. True in Love ever be,
Unless thy lover's false to thee.Eight words the Witches Rede fulfill:

An ye harm none, do what ye will.

Celtic Knots

It's all one and the same, you see,
Where you've been, and where you'll be.
Understand that, and you'll fly free.
If Celtic quest is what you seek,
T'will take far more than just a peek.
Awaken your mind, give your brain a tweak;
Learn and Listen...'til next we speak

The Keys to the Realms:  The Gifts of ae's Dana
The mythic keys, the sacred gifts of the Tuatha de Dannan are:

~The Sword
~The Cauldron
~The Stone
~The Spear

There are also four elements you may access with these keys:

~§*Fire which grants you courage, faith, strength, and if it doesn't consume you,
the power of protection*§~
~§*Water which brings you healing, transformation, and if you let it flow
through you purely, the privilage of inner wisdom*§~
~§*Earth which provides you with structure, sustenance, and, if you
don't try to possess them, the secrets of abundance magick.*§~
~§*Air which supplies you with communication, focus, illumination, and if you
can perceive them, them, the codes to intellect.*§~

* Sword = Fire
* Cauldron=Water
* Stone=Earth
* Spear=Air

Fire is the element of strength.  It is the force of faith and the power of
protection.  Fire leads us to purification of our Self and of Nature.
It is the inescapable force tht draws us into personal and planetary evolution.

Water is the element of emotion.  It is the power of inner knowing and
the sacred force of self-healing.  Water is the element of intuition.  It is the
inner teacher who instructs subtly by shaking our emotions.

Earth is the element of manifestation.  It is the power of practical
wisdom and the structure that sustains our growth.  Earth connects
us to the organized pattern of the mundane world.  It is the reality
of everyday existence.  It is the routines and rituals that make us real.

Air is the element of communication.  It is the power of perception and
the medium of mental expansion.  Air is the element of inspiration.
It is the creative force of the intellect expressing the mind of humankind.

Spirit is the element of the eternal.  It is the force that transcends
form and the power that prevades the All.  Spirit transmutes all energy
into matter and returns it to energy once again.  It is the many vibrational
frequencies of life.

My Favorite Goddess

Brigid- (Briget, Biddy, Bride, Bridey) The triple Goddess of poetry, smithcraft
and healing, represents the true Muse, the White Goddess of inspiration.
She is the daughter of the Dagda and the heiress to many of the qualities
of the Danu, mother of all the Celtic gods of Nature.
Brigid is an ancient goddess of the Gaelic Celts.  She is also referred to as
Brigantia by the Brythonic Celts.  Her worship survived into modern
times reflected in the perpetuation of her name, in a new form, as St. Brigid.
Some feel that the real person who became known as St. Brigid was originally
a priestess of the old ways in reverent service to Brigid the Triune Goddess.
Regardless of the form she takes, her inspirational power remains
the spiritual fire of creativity for all Celts.  The nine fires of perpetual
wisdom that celebrate Brigid continued to brun in Ireland until the invasion
of the Normans.  Now these flames burn within the creative hearts and minds
of poets and warriors of spirit in modern times.

Items good to have during a ritual:

Dagger, Pentacle, Incense, Cauldron, Candles, Sword (not necessary) water in chalice
Wine in chalice, and a wand.  All this should be on your altar for the ritual.  The
more things you make yourself (ie: Wand) the more of your own energy they contain
and the more effective it will be to use.
