Well then here we are all curled up and happy boys and girls well then i choose to start this story now:

i have wanted to do a review of this concert for so long cos it was the best ive ever been to. it was at the globe in Newtown, and myself ,snork and craig were lucky enough to go and greenie i must say your reason for not coming still sucks damnit!!! the crowd was crazy the music was crazier goin through all their albums and pickin out the best bits
Some highlights were asshole (always a good song) and hit machine, also ive got lice was a good one and do the hustle, in fact just mark down every song they played as good ones. snork in his advanced state of pissedness got up onstage and played with his nipple in front of a few hundred fans v.funny, craig was abused by the singer as he had long hair he was refered to as the bitch which resulted in a long dipute between many people best not gotten into :) a good nite had by all
i also must say what a grand little venue the globe is evn if getting parking for it is somewhat of a hassle

NOFX

only last friday nite did i have the good fortune of seeing fat mike pissed as a fart get through some excellent songs which sent the crowd crazy
bodyjar were great playin a mad set adrian got smacked in the nose craig was almost knocked unconcious and snork almost got into fights with some american blokes. Apart from that the music was great seeing i was the only one out of the four who went who knew any of it i reckon they did a pretty damn fine job especially the six songs four minutes thing(that may be the other way around?) the front area was just one HUGE pit reaching all the way underneath the overhang(selinas) the thing is though that nofx managed to keep it that way throughout the night one of the highlights just had to be dont call me white cos thats such a great song and they sound great live go see em.

these guys totally crazy they set themselves on fire trashed the drums set and put on one of the hardest most phsyced up shows i have ever had the good fortune to go to
they were unbeliveable they had the crowd goin off hard before they even made the stage they were loud heavy aggresive and put on arguably the best show that has been at the hordern the guy hangin from the rafters also adds character to such a crazy ass nite full of freaks in mask, if u get the chance SEE THEM!!!
they played through a huge set begining with (sic) which totally sent the crowd wild it was so pumped up everthing was moving the bass got your heart shaking in your chest. At one point though the equipment blew towards the end of spit it out which sucked cos that song is great but it was soon fixed and they were up and rioting again. One gripe though was with the crowd being an all ages gig the mosh wasnt that rough and when your listening to music this hard you need a hard mosh people lost enery halfway through songs and just stood there, i reckon that in those situations people feed off others emotions, so come on get up and go crazy cos its the last time your gonna see hte band in a while*

GRINSPOON

well this was the most recent concert and it was very cool
at the metro things were kicked off by h block 101 which are kind of the clash mixed with the sex pistols, they werent to bad
next up was groove terminator, or thew name craig adopted for him,"groove wankinator" this guy sucked bigtime , i mean i like his shit on radio but live it was shockin
he had a band help him out and the only thing that saved the laughable set was the funky bass player
grinspoon then hit the stage with a big job to do seeing the crowd hated the last act so much and they had a mad show kickin off with Ameriican party bomb(full marks to ady and craig for piickin that)they put on a med show, they sounded great and came back for an encore, which with phil bein that pissed was quite an achievement!!! all in all a sick show
the only thing that sucked apart from wankinator was the amount of teeny boppers hangin outside maccas after there show was over ...GO HOME BEDTIME.... should have been echoing off those walls...

well here we are again.. so soon i hear you cry .. well yes i went off to newtown rsl last nite with a few of the guys and we caught 28 days on thier style wars tour.
as i always say to everyone they get better everytime!!! i have seen them about four times and it goes off more each time. they palyed all the crowd favourites and a huge double hit of sucker and rip it up in the middle of the set.
they sounded excellent and the crowd was buzzin in the mosh the set ended all to early with a song that im not to familair witth(in fact i think it was the first time i heard it!!)and i had a cool nite
apart from a syco cow goin sick on me and yes kristy you know who you are:) and the support band motorace was pretty cool to.. the other was not to my liknig they were nokturnal, i think i stayed for half of the first song. but a sick nite overall

well this was the latest concert i went to and i must say i didnt know much of thier music before i went first up was seraphs coal who were pretty cool with a singin drummer and the countless numbers of rock moves(craig phrase) that they pulled off the first five minutes of boundless enery was cool but after a while it was like watchin a keep fit video(tired just watchin)
next up was the dance hall crashers who i dint like they were a mix of swing and punk and the footy beckoned so i watched that till so dickhead switched off the tv
next up was the headliners who were cool and playewd a heaps cool set the big crowd(for goldmans)got goin for songs like invicible and their bassist's talkin between songs waas pretty cool as he seemed to have more to say than the singer the show was good, a little short though cos the r.s.l had to close at 11 and the encore was sick cos a roadie got up and played guitar while the singer went it alone right in the crowd it was only 1 song but it was still a heaps cool encore

well this one wasnt really my choice but i still quite enjoyed the young man's musical talants. pity about the other two bands pretty violet stain and the doves whos music was overloud depressing shit with samples.
the main man of the night was Alex Lloyd who i heard was quite good and he was, for the time i was awake, i fell asleep for a while during his set which was a shame cos he was the only one worth watching. oh well i will c him at gomez soon

JEBEDIAH

well this was certainly sudden we only got tix the tues before it was at newtown rsl and it was very cool. lo-tel and weta were the support bands and weta were pretty cool and lo-tel were heavier and more rock than i thought they would be(think you am i). They still wernt that great though but if you get the chance to see them for free or something you may aswell check them out.
Jebediah took to the stage to loud cheering and played alotta stuff from the second album which was good, they played run of the company which craig loved and they came back for an encore, they also played the very cool song, invaders which absolutly went off:)
on the way home i got pulled over by the police who rekon i hit 120 in a 70 zone what a bunch of bollocks !! that sort of quietened the night down a bit but the concert still went hard.

A PERFECT CIRLCE

well what else could i saw than wow this was the coolest show ive seen in absolutly ages!! sunk loto were ok, a bit repetitive and no one i went with had any idea what the singer was sayin but they passed the test
a perfect circle had alot to live up to especially since they have maynard in there form tool and they did not disappoint, there set was excellent perfoming all the songs from there album and two new ones. Maynard's vocals were the highlight but i still sat there wishfully thinkin it was tool i was watchin, i mean they are a great band bu they arent tool which is maybe what some people like about them. they are similar to tool in a way but are more melodic and less heavy which some people might like, they are a great band and well worht seeing again
we were told that they will see us in january...........

(once again) this concert kicked off late at Newtown and what a jolly night we had to, the usual gang was all there plus a few old school buddies which was great. the blood idols kicked things off with an ok set but nohing to write home about they have this 50's rockabilly look happenin with a bit of punky music thrown in.
next up was the excellent superheist who i have seen a couple of times now and this time was excellent doing a set which was basically there ep in a different ordere they got the crowd pumped up very quickly and there was a mad mosh to, highlights for them were detonate and 1.4.u.
next up was 28 days the highlight of the night they unfortunatly played a shorter set than expected, about 40 mins, but threw in all the hits from the first album and a few new ones for good measure. in the end they weighed in with about10-12 songs and i was to tired to go all out after superheist but from what i saw the crowd were really gwetting into it it was a cool night but not as good as last time i saw them there.

okley dokley, we all once again trundled off to bodyjar in my car not like the last nights combie travels. We arrived at Newtown r.s.l in plenty of time and most people set to drinking including me so laura had to drive home, thanks babe, there were two bands on before bodyjar hit the stage and i forget the names of both that is how good they were. I cant really remember what they sounded like how about generic punk pop?. Anyway bodyjar started up to a loud large crowd and played through all the favourites like sequel which is one of my favourite songs :Þ they stayed out for a while and played for about one hour they actually had a pretty decent light show for an aussie band in a small venue not since the likes of grinspoon at the metro had i seen such brightness.OK and on the way home ady blew the biggest amount of spew ive ever seen come out of someone! he was in the back seat of the car and the spew trail from when he opened the door went for about 40 feet well done. and my car still smells you stinky bastard!!

GOMEZ

Slighty smaller crew went to the enmore theatre to see this show as adrian wasnt really interested so it was reduced to a foursome(heey). Matt Walker was the first guy out on stage and played some pretty crap stuff i suppose if your into hicktown slide guitar music it was ok but nothing compared to Ben Harper.
Next up was Alex Lloyd, having previously seen (this bits i didnt fall asleep in) him at the Eastwood hotel i was expecting an interesting rocky kind of performance. Was i wrong? yes i certainly was he came out with an electric acoustic guitar and a tape player with his backing instruments on it. However he still managed to keep the growing crowd entertained with his strong vocals and excellent guitar work.
time for the big boys now though and as gomez were announced there was just this huge feeling of excitement buzzing around the place. when thety hit the stage the audience went off and they played so well. i am the first to admit ive only listened to their latest album ,and not very much, but they absolutly blew me away they had huge stage precense and with guys swapping guitars and 3 singers they made the night complete. They show they had was amazing it was like no other concert id been to before, i heard a quote that went something like this "just five guys onstage enjoying themselves" and that is so descriptive of what they do. its the only time ive ever seen a band have just as much fun as the audience. 5 stars (i dont rate concerts usually but this was goooood).

iOTA+dogbouy

Well just Laura, Craig and myself travelled out to this one, we later met up with marty however, this was a free gig put on by jjj being the great station that they are. Dogbouy were on first with there interesting style of hip hop crossed with heavy rock, htey were pretty cool the singer bounces around alot and is very enerjetic, the music was borderline it wasnt all ok listening what i mean is some songs i like and some really sucked.
iOTA came out next and i hadnt seen him since homebake so i was hoping for a good show. hmmn well i hoped that didnt mean we got he played alot of new stuff that i didnt really know nor many ohter people it seemed, they did sound good though and he played 3 songs which i knew which he did quite well. After he finished up it was off to martin place to see all the olympic action...

I took my sister to this concert because she really wanted to go so we drove off to panthers to watch the amazing unwritten law play along side bodyjar, the fact that i was going to the over 18's barely half an hour after this concert was great!.
i saw about 15 minutes of the first band ,klinger, who were alright and the crowd seemed happy with there loud rendition of , hello cruel world (damn teeny boppers). This was Bodyjars tour but all i really cared about was seeing Unwritten Law, by the time they came out the place was packed and it was almost impossible to get onto the floor but somehow i managed it and when they came out the plae just erupted, they went straight into teenage suicide and the crowd was goin off it was so full but they still managed to open up enough room for a pretty good circle to start and it was good to see that all the posers and chicks who thought they were so great stayed right out of the action and didnt try and get onto the floor where the TRUE fans were. htey played a new song and songs like were definatly the highlight of this show.
aftewr that effort and the charging round on the floor i decided to skip bodyjar as nothing was topping that.

Well the fact that i had seen U L just a mere two hours had me all excited and we didnt see klinger this time hich was an exceptable effort seeing them once was quite enough.
Lucky for us we decided to go and check on U L as they were scheduled to play at 10.15 but someone was convinved they wernt coming out till 11!:) we walked in just as they were beginning missing the opening chords of teenage suicide. They played much the same set only they threy in a cover of cocaine which was amusing, there was less people at this show and they didnt seem to be into it as much as the all ages crowd. Craig and the gang went off to the metro show the night after this and said it was much better so i think the over 18's at panthers was a bit of a dud really not U L though they were still good but the crowd just didnt seem to have it.
Bodyjar came out and i tought i had better see them at least once seeing that it was there tour. I have seen them do better like i said before i think the crowd had alot to do with the performance as they didnt really seem to be into it and it was actually less crowded when bodyjar were on( no prizes for guessing who everyone went to see) they played all the usual stuff and thy did it quite well but after seeing U L twice in the one day no band was going to be great.
stay tuned for a huge livid review and a new page.

Off to the Hordern Pavillion we went again to see Green Day upclose and personal. Usual gang once again plus one, that being Glenn who made an appearance. We got there a bit later than expected but that was ok because the support was klinger who we have had quite enough of over the last month. So we hung around until 9.30 which is when grrenday hit the stage and opened with minority, lets get one thing straight, THE NEW ALBUM SUCKS ASS!!! so i dindt like this one bit. Luckily though they saved the night by only playing three new songs and lifting most of the set from Dookie and Nimrod. They played some old stuff and flowed well with the crowd with all the biggest songs being played like 'hitchin a ride' and 'basket case'

Pennywise

I went to this show not really expecting much and just going along for the ride really. During the course of the night though this band showed how amazing they are with it being one of the best shows i went to in 2000. The support i think was frenzal rhomb so we went to the bar and had a few drinks, when pennywise came out the sound was huge they sounded excellent and really got the crowd going. Huge circles opened up everywhere and they was a great crowd vibe, definate highlights of this show however had to be the cover of nirvanas territorial pissings which was brilliant plus perfect people which was also amazing. Other great bits were jim absolutley gettin the crowd goin of their heads by repeatedly jumpin into the crowd and then fletcher throwin out his guitar at the end of the set this show was two thumbs up in every way i cant wait to see the again. As a plus i also cought up with heaps of guys from school which was an added bonus all up those it was an amazing night.
