The "Mets" were down early in the game but  Malachowsky connected for a grand slam to cap an 8 run 3rd inning, giving them a 15-8 lead over "Mariners".  Steve Calderone and Chris Bell would hit back to back homers in the bottom of the third putting the "Mariners" within 5, but the rally was killed by "Mets" pitcher Joey Determan, who struck out Bell for the final out.
