Q: Can you please tell me what is going on with Cleveland Indians pitcher Jaret Wright? How long will he be out or will he ever be back? He was doing really well during Spring Training so what happened?

From: Jennifer

Wright did have a good spring but was held back in Winter Haven along with Charles Nagy for extended Spring Training.  Jaret had surgery last August and has been out since.  He has pitched very well in his last few outings and will return as the Tribe's fourth starter in the beginning of May.

The tribe got A taste of there own medicine last year setting at home and
watching the playoffs. And this manager is using the minor league talent
instead of trading it away. I now live in Florida and don't have the
opportunity to catch every game but what little I've seen is A hungriness A
leadership among the players. Its going to be A great summer for the boys.
The flats will be rockin on the river.

Has anybody noticed the resemblance between Russ Branyan and Roger
Maris? Same build, same swing, looks the same when circling the bases
after one of his monster shots, good arm, good fielder, good athlete,
strong looking jaws, same competitive disposition, etc. All Russ needs
is a little hair lightener and a flat top haircut, with a number "9" on
his back, and we would have deja vu.

Q: Who will be the surprise player in the 2001 season for the tribe?

From: Scoobdog18@msn.com

As long as he stays healthy, I think Juan Gonzalez will have a great comeback season.  We've seen what he can do without being hurt and in a hitter's ballpark, so looking at his past success at the Jake and with a good back, Juan will turn some heads this season.  Also, Charles Nagy looks to be back in shape to start at least 15 games, and I think he could be a solid starter.  It all depends on whether or not he can be ready to throw after 4 or 5 days rest.

As a Tribe fan living in Mass. I can only say thank you (for Tribe Central).

Q: How do you think Jim Thome "the mule" will do this season?

From: Eddie, 4miller@stratos.net

Thome looks to be the same old slugger he has been for the last few years.  He will probably hit 40+ homers to make up for his frequent strikeouts just like always.  With Cleveland's stacked lineup in the 1-2-3-4 positions, he will definitely crank out over 100 RBI's, and Ellis Burks will be there to pick up the slack if he strikes out.

I'm very excited and impatient towards the Cleveland Indians 2001 season.  I honestly believe that this year the Indians have a good chance to win the American League Pennant and possibly a World Series Ring!  I believe so because our pitching staff is stronger and knows one another better, which makes them play better.  Chuck Finley is now accustomed to Cleveland, so he should win 15 games at least.  Charles Nagy and Jaret Wright are back, and together they will give the club an extra 10 wins, which last year would have sent us to the playoffs.  As usual the Tribe's forceful lineup will scare the piss out of American League pitchers.  With Manny gone, the Indians acquired Juan Gonzalez and Ellis Burks and I think they both will contribute greatly to the lineup and together overcome Ramirez's and Justice's statistics.  This team is better and want to get revenge on the American League.  Remember, last year we were the only team who could beat the Yankees.  So what if they got Mike the Moose?  Chuck Finely is a Yankee killer and will have a better season.  New York might win the East, but they will have a run for their money when facing the Tribe in the ALCS.  Oh by the way, Chicago had a lucky season last year and if we didn't have so many injuries they wouldn't have won the Central Division.  Silky your new site rules...keep up the good work!!!
