Since 1993, Smiling W Stable has been associated with an educational, nonprofit organization. From 1993 until 1999, we supported the Panama City Pony Club. In 1999, we shifted gears to support the Bayou George 4-H Club. As of January 2001, we are currently working on becoming affiliated with the Sunshine State Mounted Drill Team Association.
We participate annually in several schooling and local open
shows and other "away" functions with our horses which are made
available for members to use. Club membership is required to go to such
activities as it demonstrates a serious commitment to horses.

Periodically throughout the year, we break-up the standard
lesson format with some real games. Timed events aren't limited to just
barrelracing and polebending here! We do the tater race, timed obstacle courses
and even games such as Simon Says and...BROOMSTICK POLO!

DISMOUNTED ACTIVITIES:
A number of times each year (frequently when the public schools have a half-day), we hold a dismounted workshop. Topics may include tack cleaning, colors and markings of horses, parts of the horse and the tack, deworming, temperature/pulse & respiration, fundamentals of longeing and much, much more! These dismounted workshops are geared to help youth progress through the Florida State 4-H Advancement Levels and the United States Pony Clubs, Inc's Standards of Proficiency. However, we welcome adults, too!
DRILL TEAM:
The first organizational meeting is January 15th, 2001 at 10:00 am. Plans for the SW Drill Team and Saddle Club will be discussed. Team meetings are anticipated to be held the first Tuesday of each month with up to two other meetings per month yet to be determined. Also to be addressed is dues, dismounted workshops, qualifying for the Drill Team and much more! Please email us to be put on our email list and to receive updates.
