BOARDING--
Our boarding rates vary upon your requested services and the amount which your horse eats. The following gives a breakdown of common expenses:
BASE RATE: $100 per month includes turn-out in private paddock with 10' X 10' run-in shelter and twice-a-day routine feeding service. Your horse will also be dewormed on our schedule at no extra charge!
GRASS HAY: $30 per month which may include half-day turn-out on free-choice rolled hay, or roughly 20 lbs loose hay, or 4 flakes square-baled hay not to exceed 2 bales per week.
GRAIN: Cost + $5 per month. If you wish for your horse to have something different than what we offer and it is available at our feed store, just supply us with a bin and we will be more than happy to pick it up & feed it out!
VET & FARRIER SUPERVISION: $5 per trip if we must intervene in any manner to have your horse's feet cared for by a farrier or briefly examined by the veterinarian.
BOX STALL: Base rate ($100 per month) plus $5 per night or $60 per month as available. Cleaned daily. Turn-out no extra charge.
TERMS OF BOARDING--
A standardized boarding contract is required. Owners will be held responsible for damage caused by their horse(s). For this reason WE DO NOT ACCEPT STALLIONS. Please ask for a copy of our boarding contract.
LEASING--
PARTIAL LEASE: 10 one-hour PLuS rides; $150 per month.
WEEKLY LEASE: Seven-day access. $100 per week and may include one-hour group lesson OR half-hour private lesson.
FULL LEASE: Full leases are available on some horses. $300 per month and may include up to four one-hour group lessons OR four half-hour private lessons. Please ask for the availability of long-term discounts.
TERMS OF LEASES--
Riding privileges are for the lessee only.
Riders must to do own grooming, tacking-up, etc. This service may be available for $5 per-ride charge.
Riding activities shall be limited to those which the lessee can safely perform OUTSIDE of a lesson environment.
Riders under 18 years of age must have supervision (somebody present to call 911). Adult riders are encouraged to do the same.
Lessees are urged to have own tack & equipment. Use of appropriate stable equipment is guaranteed during lesson times only.
The health and well-being of the leased horse is paramount and IS the responsibility of the lessee. Lessees will be held responsible for all loses, bills and the like relating to the neglect or mis-use of leased horses. If a horse becomes sick or injured through no fault of the lessee, Smiling W Stable may opt to give a pro-rated refund or to substitute another suitable horse.
Basic boarding, feeding and routine care is included in the stated fees. Lessees may be required to obtain negative coggins for traveling away from the barn.
Under no circumstances will leased horses be permitted to leave the premises without either full mortality and major medical coverage, a security deposit of the value of the horse, OR the owner (Lanta Caron) present.
