2003 South Eastern Baseball Showcase Top Prospects Lists

1) Ryan Ouellette: (RHP/OUT) Martin County HS, Palm City, FL(Class of 2004)
Showed a very strong arm from the outfield and ran a 6.87 60 yard dash. Ouellette also shows a 90-92 mph fastball on the mound.Projected 20-25 round draft pick. University of Virginia

2) Blake Zorn: (RHP) Vidalia HS, Lyons, GA (Class of 2004)
Shows an outstanding curveball and throws in the upper 80's.Possible draft and follow.) Middle Georgia College

3) Rufus Caruthers III: (Outfield) Lassiter HS, Marietta, GA (Class of 2004)
Showed good speed in the 6.9 range, but most impressive tool was his bat. Caruthers lined many balls off the 405 fence displaying outstanding batspeed.Possible draft and follow. Savannah State University

4) Tyler Gottlieb: (RHP/1B) First Presbyterian HS, Macon,GA(Class of 2004)
Showed very good bat speed lining many balls over the fence during batting practice. Will likley get greater interest on the mound where he displayed a fastball in the high 80's. Possible draft and follow. Stetson University

5) Justin Freeman: (RHP/IN) Mary Person HS, Macon, GA (Class of 2005)
A rising junior that showed 6.9 speed and a strong arm in the infield. Should develope into a solid Divison 1 college prospect in two years.

6) Ryan Headden : (IN/C) Boyd-Buchanan HS, Chattanooga,TN(Class of 2004)
Headden showed excellent tools behind the plate with a strong arm and quick release under 1.90 seconds. Possible draft and follow. Chattanooga State CC

7) PJ Treadaway: (RHP) Archbishop Hannan HS, Meraux, LA (Class of 2004)
Has a good pitchers frame and moving fastball in the 88-90 mph range.Projected 20-25 round draft pick. Pearl River JC. Drafted in 31 Round by the Montreal Expo's in 2004. Drafted in 42 Round by the Washington Nationals in 2005.

8) Buster Posey: (RHP/3B) Lee County HS, Leesburg,GA(Class of 2005)
Posey is a converted infielder with a very strong arm on the mound. Shows a fastball in the 90-93 mph range. Should be a high draft pick in 2 years. Drafted in 50 Round by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2005. Florida State University

9) Jamie Spear: (RHP) East Coweta HS, Senoia, GA(Class of 2004)
Spear delivers a fastball with a high leg pick similar to Hall of Famer Juan Marichal which makes his fastball in the 86-88 mph range very difficult to pick up his release. Troy State

10) Travis Mc Daniel: (RHP) Dade County HS, Trenton, GA(Class of 2004)
Projectable body and showed a good moving fastball in the mid 80's and a hard breaking ball. Expect Mc Daniel to fill out and push his fastball into the high 80's by next spring. Gadsden State CC
