Raising The Roof

Summer 2002 ‘Ey
up, how you doing? As the ‘Staind’ song goes ‘it’s been a while’, and
for that I can only apologise and offer you some pathetic excuse which is
exactly what I am going to do now. Na’
then, there’s a fairly well known theory that a million monkeys banging away
on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of
Shakespeare. Now I may not be able to prove this particular claim, if you divide
the figures involved by 500,000 then you should stumble across what goes into a
single edition of ‘Raising The Roof’. Unfortunately we have had problems
over the last year as when Monkey No.1 (me) returned from University in Lincoln
(yeah I know they’ll let anyone in these days) Monkey No. 2 (sKoT, the
‘Raising The Roof’ technical expert) had sodded down under for three months.
However he is now back and what better way to celebrate this reunion of monkeys
than with a third birthday edition of swimming’s first fanzine. Another
new edition of the ‘Raising The Roof’ website can only mean one thing. Yes
that’s right I haven’t found a job yet and I have got a lot of spare time on
my hands, and since they stopped showing Diagnosis Murder that spare time has
increased. So in the gap between World Cup matches and afternoon repeats of Ally
Macbeal this last month I have come up with a few features for you. All the
regulars are here including the latest song to escape The ‘Raising The Roof’
Song Book and your ever accurate Raising The Roof Star Signs. We have also gone
all out with a look at the latest swimming news stories in ‘Hot Off The
Press’ and details of a brand new film release in ‘Rossington At The
Movies’. The truth will finally come out in ‘Confessions of a Rosso
Swimmer’ and there is an update on just what became of a few swimmers from
Rossington’s recent past. And the moment we get our hands on a scanner ‘The
Gallery’ will be back with pictures of years gone by at Rossington ASC. It all sounds too good to be true, and knowing our combined computer skills it probably will be. Glen
