Six Tough NFL Seasons

Leo Lyons was not only the manager and owner of the team.He was the doctor ,photographer, and most importantly the only financier. The more All Americans he put on the team, the less fans would turn out.Rochester wanted to see "their own" play, but to compete in the NFL,Leo knew he needed more. He asked the fans to be patient and support pro football.Their support grew less each year, meaning less money to keep quality players. In 1921 and 1922, Leo fielded some of the biggest names in the country. But the fans asked for local players.Leo was always disheartened. He wanted his hometown of Rochester,New York to have an NFL team.He would lose a fortune trying to make it happen. In 1925, after six rough seasons, the team folded.
