Russell Hunt's 1998 230" Spitzer dragster. It's powered by a 350 D block 9.180 deck height with a 3.825 stroke. It has a 4.250" bore with BME pistons .043 top ring 1/16 second 3/16 oil ring and 6" H-Beam rods which is good for 434 cid. Batten Heads with 2.16 intake and 1.66 exhaust valves, Sheet metal tunnel ram with twin rons 3.75" flying toilet air valves with 39 nozzel jets for injecting the alcohol. Camshaft as of now is an Ultra-dyne grind 310/314 adv. with 279/283 at .050 with .724 valve lift with 1.7 rockers, ground on a 106. Tranny is a shorty glide with 1.76 low gear set and a 9inch rear with 4.10 gears, Torque converter is a custom 8" unit from PTC with a 50+ fin angle good for 5800 stall. This combo is good for mid 4.80's at 140 in the eighth in my 1600lb dragster. with 1.06 60 ft. Changes for the upcoming season is 284/292 at .050 camshaft and Hunt built 2 1/8" custom upswept dragster headers, shaving the heads and additional .050" for added compression, and a set of custom T&D shaft rockers. Andy Miller's 2001 248" Pro Start Built Dragster. He expect to be running 6 second ET's sometime in the near future and estimates it will take 883 HP to put his 1545 pound dragster with driver into the 6 second zone. The engine is a SBO 416 ci NASCAR Block (4.155 bore 3.840 stroke) Batten Heads, Arias pistons, GRP rods, Del west Tit. valves, Jessel valve train, Comp lifters and springs. Crower crank, Diamond pins, Speed Pro rings, ATI Balancer, Moroso 4 1/2 stage dry sump pump, Moroso oil pan, Earls, Cstom sheetmetal tunnel ram and Valve covers, Moroso 4 Vane Vacuum pump, SCE gaskets, NGK Plugs, Moroso Crank trigger. Here is a breakdown on some of the internal rotational weights: Crank 49 pounds, Pistons 425g, rods 466g, rings 27g, pins, 91g,. total bob weight is 1435 grams. This engine prior to adding sheetmetal intake & other goodies made 797 HP with a single Brehshere 750 Holley so he feels confident he'll reach his goal by years end.
