I recently rated an iMac review HR and a fellow epinion user asked me why.. the questioned epinion compared the iMac with Windows-driven PCs and .. I ended up writing this epinion.

Which category is right?
A comparison between Mac OS based computers (Macintoshs) and Windows based computers (IBM compatible PCs) leads to a comparison of their operating systems. Therefore here.

I also know that this is such a controversial topic, it is fun to discuss but also a great opportunity to make enemies :-) I guess I'm just asking for trouble. I've heard it all. Stories like from that engineer who claims that Microsoft develops all their (application!) software first on Macs and ports it to the Intel platform. Then the "tie people" looking down on the freaks with their mickey-mouse-toy computer (excuse the tie on my photo, please). And and and..

Inspired by the epinions Mac TV ad (which I never saw because I miss the player - DUH), I titled this epinion "shootout". I will try to be fair, so it's a real duel and not just blasting bullets at some box.

The opponents
* Mac OS 8 and 9 (9 does not bring significant news from my point)
