This photo shows a beautiful waterfall and pool which is down stream from the hotsprings along Deep Creek. If you follow the Pacific Crest trail downstream from the hotsprings you will come to a crescent shaped bridge that spans the creek. It is about one and a half miles from the springs to this bridge. If you cross over to the north side of the bridge then go back upstream about one half mile. You will come upon an are of heavy granite formations and great pools including this one. What a perfect little water fall in the semi-circle granite amphitheater which is on the right hand side of the pool in this picture. I also found in this area a large ( 5 or six feet across ) hole that went straight down into solid granite along the stream. I could not find its bottom with a long branch. It is the most unusual formation in the granite I've seen in this area of the springs. I can not understand how such a hole would have been created in such a large and solid slab of granite along the creek. This area is definitley worth exploring if you have some extra time. You can also reach this area by following Kinely creek down to where it meets Deep Creek, then go downstream. Its a bit further from this direction. Happy Soakin!
