Here you see the aftermath of the big flood of the early 90's. It flooded very high several times that year and when the water receeded after one of the high points it left a huge pile of driftwood in the trees on the bank in the middle of the picture. When the highest water hit afterward it washed this pile of driftwood away but left it all over the bank above the Arizona pool as you can see. Since fires and fire pits are a continueing problem a friend and I spent alot of time cleaning this bank and throwing all the wood into the creek while it was still running strong. Can you imagine all the fires and fire pits that would have resulted if all this wood was left for the summer crowd. If you look at the left side of the picture by the black dog you will see a sign that says " no camping " on the bank. The highest level of the flood went just up the bank from this sign by a foot or two. If you took a level line out from the high water mark to the other side of the creek you could imagine how high the water was. Its amazing how much volume of water was flowing down that canyon in those floods. If you visit the springs go up by the no camping sign a check it out!
