Sunday’s game against the West Caldwell Fire Department, our second that week, was a good sign for the playoffs. We played with three outfielders and only lost (5-12) against the undefeated team. Jim saved the day with a last minute call to his friend Chuck, to avoid the forfeit. We thought we would lose by the mercy room, only to go on and score some runs, while keeping their offense in check. Bill, Frank and Sal provided the fire power, driving in all the runs. | ||||

Tuesday was a big day for the Hitmen: - Our magic number is one. We found out that night that Ken’s Town Tavern forfeited out of the league, so we got our ninth win! One win or one loss by the Laughing Burrito and we are in the playoffs. - R. Ventola Landscaping won the early game to clinch second place in the “C” League. That means the Hitmen, if we play, will return to the C League next year. - The West Caldwell Fire Department kicked our butt in a rain shortened game (A lot- 1). There pitcher had our number and we couldn’t muster any offense after the first inning. We’ll get them in the playoffs! |
