The sheer power and attitude of the CPS-12000, in a smaller, tighter package.

When I first made the CPS-12000, I was shocked at it's performace compared to standard power Super Soakers. It just outpowered them so much it was almost beyond belief. It was definitely in the CPS-2500 to CPS-2000 categoy as far as power is concerned. As a matter of fact, it has so much power that even a customized 10X nozzle can't quite handle the firepower this blaster is capable of dishing out, and so you get stream break up with a slight decrease in distance.

If you were to take this gun up against a CPS-2000, you wouldn't quite be able to stretch the stream 60 ft in a nice downwind, like the 2000, but for pure stream velocity, this blaster would murder the CPS-2000. I can say that, because I used a CPS-2000 to campare this blaster to!!!!! This gun shoots fast, and doesn't mess around when it comes to high-impact soaker wars. This weapon was meant to be used in one hit kills games. That is what it is designed around. Lets discuss this a little more in-depth. In one hit kills games, distance is not the ruling factore, power is. That is, power VS. time. You want to squeeze every little bit of power you have into the smallest shot time imagineable, because in OHK, all it takes is one hit. That goes both ways...it takes one hit to get someone out, but if you miss...all it takes to get you out is one hit as well, so you need to fire, and fire fast, and get moving. Well, this soaker fires fast. With an estimated shot time of .5 seconds, it delivers it's payload in a way no other soaker can, and it delivers it in a way that your opponent will remember. Now, why is it that I said in a OHK game, distance is not as important? That is because for any soaker, the stream breaks up at a certain point. The last thing you want in a one hit kills game is for someone to argue about if the shot was legal because they felt some mist hit them but can't see a wet spot and you say they're out and blah blah blah...

You get the picture. When you play, you want someone to KNOW they got hit, none of this spray stuff. That is why you wan't to avoid shooting far distances in a OHK game, unless your a sniper, and you can get in a position to lay down some heavy water on someone.

After I got over my initial excitement of the 12000, I thought about it for a while, and I wondered if I could move the 12000's internals into a CPS-1000 body, since the CPS-1000 has smoother lines, and is more compacts, and over a more classy design. Well, the 120000's internals wouldn't fit inside the limited space of the 1000, so I decided to do the 12000 mod to the 1000, and so it has become the CPS-12000/1000, a variation of the same mod to a CPS-1200, only it's on a CPS-1000.

The CPS-12000/1000 on the bench

The CPS-12000 mod include a check valve freeze, to take any limitations of the blaster's HPL. The CPS-1200 has such a high stock HPL that I didn't even need to mod it at all. THe 1000, on the other hand, had a very weak HPL, and the check valve would squeal even if you just pumped the stock blaster a little faster than normal. So that part was taken care of. Next, the Pressure chamber was modded. I will leave out the details of that on this page, as they are described elsewhere. The nozzle was then very carefully drilled out to around 12X, while keeping the mesh inside the nozzle intact(VERY IMPORTANT!!!) Everything was hooked back together, and the blaster was in the testing phases. Since then, there have been many tweaks to it, and a few more mods planned which will help the system deal with the power better.

Comparitively, it doesn't compare. Or I should say other blasters don't compare to it. I remember firing a stock CPS-1000 VS. a Monster X, and I thought the Monster X was weak. hehe, so then I get used to a CPS-12000 and go to a stock 1200 or 1000, and I almost can't believe how weak these blaster were in comparison!!! wow. As for both ends of the spectrum, the MX and the 12000/1000, I have some photos of both the blasterr firing. You tell me what you think.

The CPS-12000/1000 sports a 10-12X nozzle, capable of quite a punch.
