Super charger 600

Overall:

Status: Discontinued.  This gun was made in 1999 I think, but is probably still available in some locations.

Classification: Light assault rifle.  I think stock this weapon had a 1X nozzle, but the stream seamed much smaller

Uses: (stock) long range weapon, meaning you could take this gun far away from base, not that it shot far.  Backup or light main weapon.  One should not go up against high power XPs with this gun. (modified):hard hitting short range compact CPS medium assault rifle

Average price: $20 US

Versions: 2, one stock, one 2000 edition with different colors.   Another version is one 600 modified by me(not an official version).  It is the same for the original, except it has a 2.5x nozzle.  When you see (stock) it is talking about the original version, when you see (modified) it is talking about the weapon's performance when it is modified.

Performance:

Water capacity versus nozzle output: (stock) Phenominal.  One shot lasts about 15 or 16 seconds!  This is amazing for when the other guys have to stop to repump, but it sacrifices power. (modified) Fair.  The nozzle drains the water out very fast, but you have the power that you need, it is a trade off

Water distance: 20 to 25 ft.  Same for stock and modified unless there is wind, then modified version retains it's distance.

Nozzle size:(stock) 1x, I think.  If it is not 1x, it is smaller.   (modified) 2.5x

Sting factor(power of stream) scale of 1-10: 2.  almost no sting factor.   The stream is not very formidable. same for modified and stock.

Wind deflection:(stock) Severe.  If there is any wind blowing, just shoot the gun, and you will know which way it is blowing. (modified) Very little wind deflection in minor winds.

Water tank vs. Pressure chamber ratio:  almost 1:1.  you have to refill the gun twice to fill it up.

Actual weapon:

Ruggedness: Excellent.  The one piece construction with the water tank and pressure chamber is a wonderfully stable design.  It is tough.  The weapon actually is somewhat hefty for its size when empty, so its not cheap or flimsy, so it has a nice feel to it.  Very tough.

Construction: Excellent.  The internal workings of this weapon are strong.   The weapon itself is somewhat complex.  Don't ask me why, but for some reason, not every guy can just pick one of these guns, fill it up and use it like a normal water gun to get the most use out of it.  One has to know this weapon.  The no-guide pump bar is an inferior design to the guided pump handle, but one can easily strengthen it, and it tucks away nicely and rests right up against the bottom of the gun.

Field use:(stock) Somewhat limited(in the power).  The stream is very weak so you have to be careful who you go up against. (modified) Still somewhat limited(in the water capacity) but now the weapon packs some serious punch.

Specialized or Versitile?  A very specialized weapon to use only under specific circumstances.

Designs

Looks: Excellent.  The construction around the tank and pressure chamber is a great design.

Features: CPS technology.

Comfort: When you hold this weapon, you can't help feeling like your on a swat team(especially if you 600 is painted black with a flashlight taped onto it!)  Nice and comfortable

Balance: Excellent: While I can't remember this gun feeling better in my hands than the Xp-150, this weapon remains upright when left to hang on a sling.

Can you put a strap on it?  Yes, it has very good locations for a strap.

Other

Things to note:  Bright orange tanks.  Quick charge capability.  Has a tendency to spit air in the middle of a shot time and has a hard time shooting while the gun is pointed upwards.

modified or not modified? Modified, if you want it to have more power and less water conservation.   But as it is, it is a great weapon.

Could this gun use camoflage?  Yes

Recommended? Yes

This is my sniping weapon.  This is a very special weapon that is different from the other guns.  It is a complex weapon to use.  You have to know everything about this weapon to be able to achieve maximum firepower with it.  You have to get used to the feel of this gun. I got this gun for like $5 at toys r us.  What a deal! Ususally $20, a tad bit much. This gun has CPS technology and super charge capabilities.  The water stream, if the weapon is left stock, runs for about 15 seconds, which is incredible!  The only problem is it is a weak stream that doesn't go too far and can get knocked off target by the wind pretty easily.  What I did is I modified mine to have a 2x nozzle.  Very effective. Sure the small stock size nozzle is great for shooting for 15 seconds continually, but that really doesn't have that much use.  It the heat of battle, your not going to get the opportunity to shoot someone continually for 15 seconds and even if you did, the stream is weak enough for whoever is being hit to just run away with minor 'wounds' .   With a 2X nozzle, this thing hits good.  And fast.  And left at stock this gun just had no stopping power.  If an enemy was charging you, you would not be able to hold them off with a stock SC600.  But with a 2X nozzle, it makes this gun a little more of a threat to tangle with.  Plus your going to find yourself being ambushed or doing a hit and run where power and speed are critical, much more than getting the opportunity to shoot someone for a lengthy amount of time, and with a modified 2X nozzle, it gives this gun the power when you need it. (I recently tested this weapon side by side with a stock CPS 1200, and the 1200 stock still has much more power than the 600 modified or unmodified, so be careful)

Coming back to the complexity of this weapon, you almost always have to fill up the tank, pump the gun, then fill the tank again, every single time you reload.  This is because the pressure chamber is almost the same size as the water tank.  I would not say that this gun is delicate, it just requires correct and careful use to function properly.  All in all a great weapon, and with the nozzle opened up a bit, reveals the weapons true potential. I recommend it, and with a 2X nozzle, it packs good punch for a small package.
