SERIES RECAP
San Francisco and Lake Erie met in the 2000 World Series for the third time in four seasons, and once again, the SeaWolves emerged as the Champions. San Francisco has now won four of the five GGSL titles, winning the top crown in '96, '97, '98, and '00. The frustrated Indians have now finished second four straight seasons, losing to San Francisco in '97 and '98, to San Jose in '99, and now to San Francisco again in '00. The Indians really do seem snakebit as they have battled in every series, only to see the title slip away in the most improbable of ways. However, manager Kurt Gnandt should
be congratulated on another outstanding season, as the Indians posted wins of 108 in '97, 111 in '98, 102 in '99, and a
GGSL record 123 wins in '00.
This season's World Series was truly a battle for ages, as San Francisco and Lake Erie staged what could be the
most exciting World Series in GGSL history. Some of the series highlights include:
Indian Fernando Tatis, the biggest case ever for an MVP to be named from a losing team, hit .321, scored five runs,
had two doubles and four homers, and drove in nine runs in the seven games.
Series MVP Jeff Bagwell, hit .290, scored four runs, had two doubles and two homers, and drove in seven runs.
Indian Roberto Alomar, hit .286, scored six runs, had one double, one triple, one homer, and drove in four runs.

10.
Indian Pedro Martinez, an ERA of 3.07, won one game without a loss, allowed 12 hits in 14 innings, walked five and
struck out 23.
