Phonebush's White-Grape Bait

Place as many white raisins (Thompson grapes-dehydrated) as you wish to ferment into a container and cover with water. You may want to add a tablespoon of sugar and several grains of yeast to quicken the process. The fermentation begins within 48 hours. You can tell by the fragrance if they are "working" Use within a week of fermentation seems best.

The purpose of fermentation is to expand the zone of detection. Natural alcohols disperse in water about as well as anything.

Additionally, they seem to work best along a bank or structure where fruits might gather naturally. The warmer the water in the swim the more effective raisins will become.
