2002/03 season. Mark made his debut for United at home to Bristol Rovers on the 24th of August  playing 39 league games.  The ball winner of the team, Mark  reads the game well and can be seen  blocking opposition lines of attack by positioning himself in the channels when he  isn't near enough to tackle. His only goal of the campaign came away at Torquay in a vital 3-2 win on the 26th of April. At the end of the first half, with United already 2-0 ahead, Richie Foran beat his defenders to get the ball to the by-line.  His pass to Mark, who was waiting at the edge of the box gave the midfielder his chance and he calmly shot low into the bottom corner giving the keeper no chance.
