ROOKIE CLASS RULES


DRIVER SAFTEY

  1. CSA approved helmet is mandatory, 1980 snell or newer. Because windshields have been removed, eye protection in the form of full face visors are mandatory.
  2. Fire rated racing suits must be worn.
  3. Full 6 point roll cage 1 " o.d. x .0125", minimum.
  4. Seat must remain in stock position anchored at the bottom in 4 places and the back of the seat must be fixed to the roll case in one place. Driver must have at least 4" top clearance between helmet and roof. Roll bar padding must be used on all tubing that is within 18" of the driver.
  5. Five (5) points seat belts properly bolted.
  6. Each car must have a reinforced right front wheel and nuts with tube.
  7. Each car must have a tow hook front and back, mounted on bumper and must be visible to safety staff.
  8. Car number must be 18" high on both sides and roof. Must be professionally done.
  9. Appearance: car must be properly painted, neatly lettered and washed. For your fans on race night.
  10. Weight: 2,000 lbs- 4 cylinders (including driver), Weight: 2,600 lbs- 5,6 cylinders (including driver)
  11. Open to all compact cars 1969 thru 1994, no more than 105" wheelbase. No pickups, convertibles or 4 wheel drive vehicles.
  12. All glass must be removed, including windshield, all lights, reflectors, ornaments etc. must be removed. Headlight and tail light holes must be covered with sheet metal
  13. Windshield space must have mesh screen (min. 1" heavy gauge, no chicken wire) totally covering it. Drivers window must have an approved window net on driver's side.
  14. No mirrors or radios allowed.
  15. Carpet, seats and interior trim must be removed. Cars must have solid floors and body panels. No skinning of any panels.
  16. All cars must have a complete body including full hood, doors (welded shut), fenders, trunk lid and full floor. No skinning of any panels. Car must remain stock in appearance.
  17. Outside rub bars permitted, flush to body panels with no sharp edges or ends. 1 maximum size.
  18. Front and rear bumpers must be stock. Wheel opening may be cut for clearance 2" maximum. No outside reinforcing on the front or the back.
  19. Any stock steel manufactured wheel permitted. No aluminum allowed, 6" maximum width.
  20. TIRE: stock street D.O.T. no more than 6" tire allowed, no snow tires or racing tire*s, no grooving.
  21. Uni-body cars must have front and rear connected with a 2" x 2" tubing.
  22. Stock suspension and springs must be retained.
  23. Cars must have four wheel brakes in good working order. 24. Cars must have 4' minimum exhaust pipe.
  24. Cars must have a safety drive shaft hoop installed at the front of the drive shaft if using a rear wheel drive.
  25. Radiators must be in original position.
  26. FUEL: pump gas only. No racing fuel or aviation gas, no additives.
  27. Fuel tank (fuel cell mandatory) must be completely sealed off from drivers compartment with a fire wall. Fuel line can pass through drivers compartment when well covered. Must have a fuel shut off valve within drivers reach. Not covered, labeled, on/off in bright color.
  28. Engines must be 4, 5, 6, cylinder maximum 3,000 cc. No turbo or super chargers.
  29. Engine must remain stock in every respect.
  30. Ignition system must remain stock in every respect.
  31. Stock automatic or manual transmissions only.
  32. Posi-traction, limited slip and lock-up rear ends allowed.
  33. $1,000 claimer on complete motor. $1,500 claimer on the rest of the race car.
  34. To claim a car or motor, the claimer must have competed in the race against the car he/she is claiming and must present the claim in writing 10 minutes before the feature with cash in hand.


Any and all decisions of the technical inspector are final. Any car that departs from the reality of the intention of this class will be disallowed. Management reserves the right to disallow any and all entries. Please read these above rules carefully. Keep in mind that this is a fun stock class and it is up to everyone to keep it that way.
**Special Note: at the discretion of the track officials, if you are deemed too strong for the rookie stock you may be required to move up a class. Track champions MUST move up a class.



ENDURO RULES

Monster 8 Cyl. Enduro: 150 Laps
Sunday, September 15, 2002. 2 PM Start

For any North American built car, no 4 cyl. compact cars, 4 wheel drives or trucks. Compact cars must be braced inside. Uni-body must be welded/braced together.


4 Cyl. Enduro: 50 laps
Sunday, September 15, 2002. 2 PM Start

For any 4, 5, or 6 cyl. compact cars, NO 4 wheel drives or trucks. Compact cars must be braced inside. Uni-body must be reinforced.


Note: Leave both front doors, hood, trunk, rear window panels, & roof blank for race day number.

GENERAL RULES

SAFETY RULES

All glass and flammable materials must be removed

Batteries must be in engine compartment

No outside reinforcement allowed

Lap and shoulder belts

Maximum 9" tires (tread width) NO SNOW Tires, Tire pressure, no less than 28 lbs/tire

Full face helmet, windshield screen

If inside door or roof are cut-out, reinforcement pipe must be in place

Seat must be solid to floor, & headrest tied back

No bracing in front of front, or rear of rear firewall

Gas tank in original position, if not, it must be in trunk strapped with at least 4" strapping. Firewall between driver compartment and trunk

Car must have full body and floor

ALL DOORS MUST BE WELDED SHUT, AT LEAST 4 ONE-INCH WELDS PER DOOR

No obscene lettering

Red Emergency Cloth; full pants, shirt-Must; firesuits highly recommended

Remove all fire retardant material under hood of car

Roll cage (4 pt) MANDATORY for driver compartment, must be welded to frame

No alcohol, coolers, children under 16 permitted in pit area

No use of the INFIELD (automatic disqualification)

No alcohol, coolers, children under 16 permitted in pit area

Cars not conforming with the rules will be disqualified



ALL VEHICLES MUST have REINFORCED RIGHT FRONT WHEEL (steele plate under bolts.)
ALL VEHICLES MUST HAVE 4 PT ROLL CAGE!

ADVANCED CAR REGISTRATION FEE: $70 per car prior to Friday Sept. 6, 2002; $90 Race Day at pit gate Last Day for Advance Registration is Friday, Sept. 6th, 2002. Registration includes driver pit entry. No registrations will be taken over the phone or accepted between Sept. 7th and Sept. 14th.

EACH CAR MUST SUPPLY ONE SCORER. All rules and tech decisions to be considered final at the discretion of the officials.
Entry deadline is 2 hours before racing (NOON!).
Drivers must remove all old tires and debris from pit area prior to leaving.

NOTE TO ALL COMPETITORS:

Kanes Towing will reinburse your entry fee if you agree to assign possession of your car to Kanes Towing upon completion of the race. Please speak to one of Kane's representatives prior to the race.

PIT GATE OPENS at 11:00 a.m., all cars participating must be in by NOON for INSPECTION. No children under 16 permitted in Pit Area, No Alcohol or Coolers on Premises.


PRE-REGISTRATION

You may register at the Souvenir booth on any race day, or by mail to above address prior to deadline, Payment can be made by Certified Check, Cash, or Money Order. No personal checks. Mailed entries MUST be received by September 6th, 2002. Only pre-paid applicants will be given starting numbers in advance. Registered Numbers (max 2 digits) must be at least 36" high of contrasting color, placed on both front doors, hood, trunk, both rear window panels, and roof plainly visible for scorers to see.
