The Brewseum is Proud to Present Fantasy Golf League 2001!

Here’s the Fantasy Golf League (FGL) rules:

Each player may choose up to 6 golfers to participate on their team.

Only the 30 men’s tournaments listed on the attached schedule will count towards your FGL team score. Keep that in mind if you elect to draft lots of European players! Also note that the Brewseum Open is not one of the listed tournaments.

A random drawing will determine who selects first, second, etc. in the draft. After the last player has chosen, we will reverse the order of selection, continuing on until all players have fielded a team of 6 golfers.

Points will be awarded based on the final results of each tournament. Just because your golfer was winning thru the first three rounds just doesn’t mean shit….and you can quote me on that!

Points will be awarded each week for your team as follows :

- 1st place     10 points

- 2nd place     7 points

- top 10         4 points

- top 20         2 points

- finishing         1 point

- making the cut but not finishing    0 points

- missing cut*     -1 point

*If your golfer fails to make it past the cut for any reason, the player costs you a point.  A player who starts a tournament but is DQ'd or withdraws before the Cut is announced is considered to have Missed the Cut.  [For tournaments with multiple cuts (Stableford Scoring System), only the main cut following the second day of action will count.  Players missing the second cut after Saturday's play will not lose a point nor will the earn a point since they did not finish the tournament.]

The following tournaments will count double:

        US Open

        British Open

        The Master’s

        The PGA Championship

        Memorial Tournament

Injuries, retirements, alcohol rehab:

all are part of the game. John Daly is off the wagon and Jose Marie is punching out walls.  That's just too damn bad.  If he’s on your team, you’re stuck with him unless you wish to trade for an available golfer. You may pick up any golfer not on someone else’s team at any time, for any reason but it’s going to cost you…..$5 per transaction.  Substitutions made during a tournament will count towards the next weekend's event.

Entry Fee:

Once again, for the privilege of taking part in FGL 2001, the fee for entering a team into this league will be $35.

Awards, prizes and other forms of recognition:

At the end of the season:

1st place = 70% of the pool and bragging rights

2nd place = 20%

3rd place = 10%

Pool money consists of entry fees and trades.  In case of ties, we split it like they would do in a tournament.  If two managers tie for second, they split the 2nd & 3rd place pot.

OPTIONAL SIDE BET:

-For the 4 majors and Muirfield, a separate pot will be paid out to the team with the most points for each event.  Entry fee = $5.

NEW FOR 2001:
The manager that comes in last place owes a round of drinks at the next year's draft night!
