The Design Process

These Sketches were made and labeled for feedback.  The chosen enclosure was based off one of the sketches, try to guess which one.

The Rendering and Measuring / Calculating

By using AutoCad2002, I was able to quickly arrange the holes in the port, and come up with some angles and dimensions.  This proved very helpful in speeding up the build process of such a complex enclosure.  You can also begin to see the actual shape of the enclosure.  What's not seen here, is the formulas used to calculate exactly 214L of volume by adjusting height.

Building the Subwoofer (3-4 Day Totals)

Details of the subwoofer

bulletTop mitered to fit - So that when the sub is assembled there are no visible seams.
bulletAir tight lock miter on sides - using special machinery we were able to form joining planes with a locking mechanism to allow a pressure holding hold so no need for caulk.
bulletLock Miter tested - several tests were done to ensure perfect matching of joints.
bulletPrecision Measured - Using shims and various clamps we were able to assemble the enclosure with a very small margin of error. Very critical when assembling an enclosure with angles.
bulletPocket screws and drill press holes - more machinery used to precision center holes for brace to maintain optimal structural integrity and uniformity.
bulletLong screws - countersunk steel screws hold the brace together along with liquid nails and Titebond yellow glue to help strengthen the enclosure.
bulletDouble bladed (scoring saw) table saw - A shot of the cut process on an industrial table saw able to cleanly cut the aluminum and maple laminate.
bulletClamped - Utilizing special C clamps that are able to hold tightly angled planes together where standard clamps fail.
