MGA get revenge for last season's Preliminary final loss.
The MGA were to play this one without Paul who was sitting out with a shoulder injury sustained in the All-Stars previous game and the Gor man, who was feeling a little under the weather and failed a fitness test given by the big O-dizzel herself.  But they came out strong on a 15-0 run thanks to a great start from the Roosta and some nice passing work from point guard Mo and David.  Everyone chipped in with tidy defence as last year's finalists were simply out-classed for most of the first half.

Even with an impressive looking new recruit, Coelecanth struggled to beat the full court press applied by guards Kaz and Mo as the MGA forced turnovers leading to more scoring opportunities.  Mo continued his hot streak over into this game with a fancy pass to Johnny for a sweet little two and then was on the end of a nice dish from David for a lay-up of his own.  Mo also had a great night from the free-throw line connecting on 5-5 thanks to his new "I don't give a fuck" style.

Johnny also had one of his best games ever in an MGA uniform with 5 pts, 4 rebs, 0 to's and a steal in 20 minutes of play, including an important trey which swung the balance of the game back the MGA's way when Coelecanth was making a late run.  Pete made some clever plays and Kaz drew some important fouls with good rebounding position before hitting a couple of jumpers in a row to extend the MGA lead.

After Costa's brilliant start, the Roosta cooled off, missing his last 6 shots but still worked hard on the boards to finish with 6 for the game.  The Hustle man also worked hard on the boards despite receiving a raw deal from the referees.  Another man who AGAIN got screwed by the ref's was David.  For some reason they just don't like callin fouls against him and even though he went to the line 8 times, there were several occasions where fouls on him were blatant yet missed.  He still finished the game with a very nice 11pts, 5rebs and 3stls altough it wasn't a game he was very happy with.

GAME NOTES: Daniel Kazalac had a game he'd rather forget with 0pts, 0rebs, 1ass, 1stl, 1to and 5 fouls in 13mins.  He became the fastest player to foul out in MGA history .......... Somehow the MGA managed to pick up a huge 24 fouls for the game, the main culprits being D.Kaz-5, and Costa, Mo and Pete with 4 each ...... After a good start the MGA's team statistics did not look very impressive at all, shooting only 28% from the field and only managing to pull down 22 boards for the game.
