Here is an email from Wendy Karhoffer about a perscribed burn for forrest management in the Banff National Park. The attached file has some more info including maps. It will take place just west of Yaha Tinda, and smoke may reach Sundre.

Greetings canoe/kayak/raft enthusiasts!  Following is information about a
Parks Canada prescribed burn planned for the Red Deer River area in Banff
National Park this spring.  We would appreciate it if you could pass the
information along to your clients/members.



            Banff National Park Fire and Vegetation Management

The Parks Canada Banff Field Unit is planning a prescribed burn this spring
in the lower Red Deer River Valley of Banff National Park.  Attached is an
information sheet on the Red Deer burn, including maps of the burn unit
location.
