Mars.  The animation at bottom was made from five images taken over a period of 1 hr 40 mins.

Image info

Telescope:  Skywatcher 8" f/5 Newtonian, stopped down with an off-axis mask

Focus:  Prime focus with 2x Barlow

Camera:  SAC7B, uncooled

Exposure:  166 AVI frames used

Date:  27th July 2003 (local time - UT noted on image)

Processing:  Acquired in K3CCDTools.  Aligned and stacked in Registax (resampled 4x).  Exported as FITS and wavelet processing done in Iris.  Exported to Photoshop as RAW.  Final image is GRGB, ie the Green image is used as luminance as it had the highest resolution.  Resized to 0.5 for final image.

Seeing was quite good but with intermittent cloud.  My mirror and Barlow are probably not good enough to give a higher resolution image.
